The Good News Email – 05-04-2014

    Dear All,
Greetings from Los Angeles! What an incredible weekend: the CAICC Basketball Championship Game, the 3 Point Contest, the All-Star Game on Friday; the gorgeous Dylan & Kayla Erickson Wedding on Saturday; and by Sunday, the Lord had blessed the City of Angels Church with nine additions – seven baptisms, one restoration, and one place membership!

The City of Angels Church gathers on Friday evening
for the CAICC Basketball League Championship!

At 7:30PM on Friday evening, the opening ceremonies for the CAICC Basketball Championship Game began! The atmosphere was electric as the famed Inglewood High School Gym was packed with disciples! The young prophet, Princeton George magnificently hosted the evening! The opening prayer was given by the CAICC Basketball Commissioner Tony Untalan. Then Heather Harvin beautifully sang the Star Spangled Banner acapella and it was “game on” as the talented OC Knicks faced the undefeated Southland Bulls!

Heather’s phenomenal singing of the National Anthem made
the trip to Inglewood worthwhile even before
    the Championship Game started!

The Knicks raced out to a six point lead by the end of the first quarter led by the “Brown Mamba” – Amar Panduranga, the league’s leading scorer! However, by halftime, the “Silver Fox” – Cory Blackwell –  had inspired the Bulls to surge ahead to stay! The final score was Bulls 53 and Knicks 44!

The Southland Bulls overcome the OC Knicks 53 – 44!
    Congratulations to each member
    of the undefeated Bulls!

The leading scorers for the game were Isaiah Todd (17) for the Bulls and Amar (16) for the Knicks, even though he did not play the entire game as he was severely injured with a little over a minute to play! (Let’s keep Amar in our prayers.) Amazingly, Carl Buckner of the Knicks led the rebounding with 14! To be commended are Chris Broom and Pat Boea who were outstanding in coaching the Knicks and Bulls respectively!

    Coach Boea savors the moment!

The 3 Point Championship was very exciting as the best eight “3 Point Shooters” from the CAICC League Regular Season went head-to-head! In the final round, Carl Buckner was narrowly defeated by the sharp-shooting Kyle Bartholomew – aka the Bald Eagle – of the Central Region Heat!

Kyle Bartholomew (aka The “Bald” Eagle) wins
    this year’s “3 Point Championship!”

Then came the All Star Game! What incredible talent was on display!

The entire City of Angels Church was so proud of
each of the brothers that were selected for
the North and South All Star Teams!

The game had several lead changes, but in the end Kyle Bartholomew’s play gave the North All Stars a thrilling 51 – 50 victory over the heavily favored South All Stars! Kyle was named MVP for the All Star Game!

Kyle Bartholomew – All Star Game MVP!

The North All Stars were selected from the
    Heat, Lakers and Maverick Teams!

For the season, Cory Blackwell received the League MVP Award, Levi Bartholomew of the Heat received the Top Rebounder Award, and Gavin Proctor of the Knicks received the Sportsmanship Award! Only in the Kingdom could everyone have so much fun – win or lose!

The League MVP – Cory Blackwell and the League
    Sportsmanship Award Winner –
    Gavin Proctor!

After the All Star Game, the Silver Fox graciously
congratulates one of his best friends,
    the Bald Eagle!

And now more detailed reports from around LA…

Jake Ramsier: Greetings from the Antelope Valley Region! This past weekend was so inspiring and encouraging as we all celebrated the wedding of Dylan & Kayla Erickson! Of note, Lou Jack Martinez preached the Word at the wedding, and all were full of praise for God when Lou Jack shared that Dylan & Kayla dated purely according to the Bible’s standard!

Congratulations to Dylan & Kayla Erickson!

The celebration brought together a multicultural group of supporters: of course the entire AV Region, many disciples from the ICOC, members of the Mormon Church who are friends of Kayla’s family, even some of Dylan’s extended family from India, and Lou Jack & Cathi Martinez along with their children Christine and Philip from Hawaii! Truly the Lord’s “light was shining before men” as the disciples tirelessly served the families and the guests from early morning to late that night! I might even add that the AV disciples did an especially excellent job of expressing their joy on the dance floor!

As married disciples, Dylan & Kayla will dance
together in life for each other
    to get to Heaven!

A special “thank you” from the whole AV Family to Lou Jack & Cathi who also encouraged us again on Sunday! Lou Jack not only preached his heart out but sang as well, and Cathi shared a creative and vulnerable testimony for communion!

Having initiated the AV Planting, Lou Jack &
    Cathi are dearly cherished
    in the High Desert!

Don’t forget to send those prayers up the 14 freeway!

Curtis Valdez: “So Jacob was left alone, and wrestled [with the Angel of God] till daybreak.” (Genesis 32:24) Greetings from the Central Region! This week God blessed us by adding another brother to His Kingdom in the East Los Angeles College (ELAC) Ministry! Estaban is a wrestler for the university who quickly began applying the principles in his sport as he “wrestled” with the Scriptures! Estaban’s heart was just like that of Jacob, as he was eager to be blessed by God and receive the forgiveness of sins as soon as possible! Estaban received “his blessing” on Wednesday night as he was plunged into the waters of baptism!

Just as Jacob “wrestled” with God’s Angel, Estaban
“wrestles” with God’s Word to receive the
    blessing of salvation!

Two more pieces of not good, not great but “awesome” news: 1) Melissa Sullivan of Orlando has decided to attend USC in the Fall! Everyone in the Campus Ministry is so fired up to have this “awesome” sister join us!

After deciding to attend USC, Melissa is no
longer “up a tree” in selecting a college!

    2) Those of us from Hawaii are so proud of our Honolulu Evangelist as he passed both the Old Testament and New Testament Exams to officially enter the ICCM Master’s Degree Program! Congratulations to our “awesome” brother Lou Jack Martinez!!!

Capil Marhatta: Greetings from the Sensational South! The South Region seems a bit like Long Beach Airport at times with continuous “arrivals and departures” for mission teams – Paris (2012), Las Vegas (2013), and the Wademans, Daniela Juarez and Michelle Miranda to Toronto! (May 25, 2014) Swirling around as well are disciples returning from the mission field such as Anthony & Cassidy, and Russian-speaking disciples moving from former Soviet Union Nations to train with Oleg & Aliona Sirotkin for the Moscow Mission Team which leaves in December 2014!

The Spirit selects Michelle and Daniela to
be the newest additions to the
    Toronto Mission Team!

After the arrivals of five baptisms on Easter Sunday, we had a New Christian Orientation for all those baptized (11), restored (4), and placed membership (6) in the last few months! The room was full of miracles because we believe that every addition is a miracle!

Yesterday, we made over $1,000 in tagging and today Lance challenged everyone in the congregation to sell “something” just like in Acts 4:32-37 where from “time to time” the disciples sold their possessions and laid them at the apostles feet! We are praying for a “Son/Daughter of Encouragement” to step up so we can blow out our 20X Special Missions Goal!

Kierra, Elizabeth and Helena joyfully tag to blow out
the South Region’s Missions Contribution Goal!

Finally, be praying for us in the South “to strike while the iron is hot” to capitalize on the “many studies” and see Long Beach – as our brother Stacy Ybarra always says, “The Greatest City in the World” – to be evangelized on every corner and in every neighborhood! To God be the glory!

Sparkle Boea: “How good and pleasant it is when brothers live together in unity!” (Psalm 133:1) Greetings from the Southland Region! This past Friday was victorious as we witnessed how God blessed our Southland Basketball Team – the Bulls – giving them an undefeated season! The great thing about it is that this unity can been seen in our ministry both on and off the court, as God has blessed us with many additions during the CAICC Basketball Season!

Recently, Gabriel Barbosa, who was originally baptized in our former fellowship in 2005, was restored! Despite his family’s persecution and disbelief about his repentance after having once fallen away, Gabriel fought hard to not let it hinder him from being right with God. He was restored during this Sunday’s service!

Leslie – a single mom of two and a long-time friend of nine years to our sister Charlette Newton, an awesome ICCM student – had studied the Bible about a year ago but wasn’t ready to commit to making Jesus Lord of all. She recently called Charlette and wanted to study again! After showing a consistency to God by attending “the meetings of the body”on a regular basis, giving up a 12 year relationship, and her partying ways, Leslie went from being unwilling to even pray to allowing God to soften her heart to become your sister in Christ!

Leslie is warmly welcomed into the
    Southland Family!

We are convinced that God will continue to do amazing things through our unified commitment to serve Him!

Chris Adams: Good News from the Orange County Singles! “I am the vine; you are the branches. If you remain in me and I in you, you will bear much fruit; apart from me you can do nothing.” (John 15:5) God is definitely blessing the OC Singles Ministry with abundant fruit! Two weeks ago, immediately following Ryan & Nikki Williams’ Friday Night Bible Talk, Viri was baptized into Christ! Viri fasted and prayed to have a humble, broken heart and even went with the sisters to the beach at 4:30AM to ask God for a spirit of openness!

Viri (third from the left) enjoys the OC Sisterhood!

Today, a young woman named Janet, who was met by Dennis (OC) and Corina (AMS) four months ago, overcame all her fears and “ran” to the light! Ever since seeing 12 people confess, “Jesus is Lord!”  at our Congregational Easter Service two weeks ago, Janet was determined and inspired that she too could confess, repent and be baptized! I’m so proud of my wife Kerri-Sue, who loves to baptize and even more… loves to train other women to be fruitful!

Janet’s little brother (fourth from the left) tells Chris
Broom after service, “This is the first ‘mass’
    I’ve not fallen asleep in!”

God is also blessing us with Missions Miracles! Abby Chien shared today that a couple of years ago, she had asked a man who wasn’t open to studying the Bible if he would give to Missions… He gave $20 the first time… then $200 and then $300 as each time she asked for more, God moved his heart to give that amount! Then she changed jobs and lost contact with him; however, HE found HER at her new job and asked her if she needed any help this year for Missions Contribution! She had a quick “Nehemiah prayer” and responded with even more faith and asked him for $500… and he promptly wrote the check out for that very amount!

God grants Abby a missions victory in raising
    $500 from someone that sought
    her to give to missions!

Our OC Missions’ secret weapon is the family team of Lenny and her daughter Lizbeth, who was born with spina bifita. They tagged together for less than two hours and raised almost $100 on the streets of Santa Ana! As well, this past Saturday night into Sunday, Daniel Granger ran a “Ninja Night” at his Martial Arts Dojo for $60 per kid and gave up sleep for 24 hours… He had over 30 kids show up and all profits will be donated to missions!

    Daniel teaching at his Dojo!

Lastly, my wife & I are going after pledges for my participation in our upcoming OC Region 50 Mile Bike-a-thon that Wayne Willoughby and John Astwood have masterminded! The first 10 people that I have asked to sponsor me have all said “yes” and pledged between $30 (thanks, Mom!) and $250 (gifted by a generous remnant disciple who I’ve known for 20 years)! By God’s grace, I will not only go over the $1,000 mark this week, but also hit $2,000 by May 17th!

Myrna Lopez: “Repent, then, and turn to God, so that your sins may be wiped out, that times of refreshing may come from the Lord.” (Acts 3:19) Greetings of love from the Inland Empire! During the last two weeks, the Lord worked incredible miracles as His grace allowed us to see five souls “repent and turn to God” as they were added to our number through the refreshing waters of baptism!

First off was Jesse, a UCR student, who was baptized at our Friday Night Devotional! Jesse’s eagerness to study the Bible was inspiring to all of us as she came to believe in Jesus for the very first time!

Jesse alongside her new IE Sisters issues the
IE Challenge, “You will be next!”

Second to be added to God’s family was Desmond, who was baptized into our incredible TNT Teen Ministry! Desmond, despite being 15 years old, showed a very mature understanding of the Word of God. Moved and inspired by all the baptisms after our Easter Congregational Service, Desmond came to his Bible study getting open about his sins and expressed his desire to be baptized as soon as possible! Five days later, he became our brother in Christ!

Desmond joins the IE Chorus in proclaiming,
    “You will be next!”

Very inspiringly, his older sister Deven was baptized today!! Deven, despite only being 17, showed an urgency to study the Word as she realized that her earthly success of being one of the top students in California and receiving several acceptance letters from prestigious universities, all counts for nothing if she is not walking with God! And so Deven became the second addition to our incredible TNT Teen Ministry this past week!

…and his sister Deven was next!

Sunday service was over but the miracles were certainly not! Chrisna, an RCC student, was feeling so deeply troubled, convicted and challenged by the message preached by Argo Arneson that she decided to keep studying until she was baptized and so Sunday before midnight she became our sister!

“Next” the Spirit drew Chrisna to the Kingdom!

Also we had Sabrina join the family of God in the Palms Springs Sector through baptism! Sabrina’s family was persecuting her for her decision to get baptized and so they came to “check it out,” but little did they know they were going to be hit with the power of the Kingdom! Her family quickly shared after service that they saw that she was “in good hands” and her uncle was sharing in tears about how impacted he was from the service!

Sabrina makes sure that the Palm Springs Sector
as well issues the IE Challenge,
    “You will be next!”

Pray for us as our Lord is not only working miracles in the lives of those around us, but also in our Special Missions as these past two weeks we have raised close to $1,400 through tagging and concession stands at special events such as the basketball games and concerts at the local university! We are praying to blow out our goal with just two Sundays left!

Tyler Sears: Greetings from the West Region! What an incredible few weeks it has been! God has been so gracious and faithful to us and we’re so amazed at all He is doing through the disciples! This week, the Lord added two to our number through baptism with Herbert and Soyoloo – a very talented woman from Mongolia!

    Herbert’s prayers were answered when
    he found the Kingdom!

Herbert was converted through our Singles Ministry after studying all week, while Soyoloo took a little more time – beginning back in October of last year! Her friends from Washington DC, Doku & Zula, became disciples and then reached out to make sure that Soyoloo and the father of her child “Bill” connected to Michael & Sharon Kirchner. Michael & Sharon persevered with them… They were married on Saturday, and Sharon “counted the cost” with Soyoloo and baptized her the next day!

Soyoloo (fourth from the right) is overwhelmed with
joy after her long awaited baptism!

I am especially proud of Michael for his serving heart as last week he officiated a wedding and then this week hosted the Mongolian couple from DC who came for the wedding and baptism, coordinated Bill & Soyoloo’s wedding, helped his ministry be fruitful, and brought out a friend to church!

We are equally excited about Special Missions and several disciples helped to make an amazing board for us to track our progress! Already we’re 75% of the way to 20X our weekly pledge!

Walter and Kristtina inspire the entire West Region
by making a “detailed missions board!”

Lastly, we are honored to be able to send out Miguel Limon to Mexico City to help support the church. He has already become such a dear brother to so many in the West and it is “bittersweet” to see him go. We are faithful that he will do amazing things while there, and Lord willing, Miguel will come back and be part of the Dallas/Ft. Worth Mission Team after our August Global Leadership Conference! Please continue to pray for the West Region!

Victor Gonzalez Sr.: Greetings from the East Region! If you asked me to described the disciples here in the East Region, I would simply tell you that they “GET IT!” They GET that God wants them to bear MUCH fruit! They GET that we must financially support the vision of the evangelization of the nations in this generation! And they GET that God wants them to go to all nations!

Three miracles that attest to the disciples’ convictions here: The first miracle is that in the past three weeks we saw God add three to our number through baptism! First was Gilbert who gave up his job at a medical marijuana dispensary to become a disciple! The second baptism was Mauricio. Initially the brothers planned to go support our Celtics Basketball Team in the playoffs, but the game “just happened” to be postponed! So the brothers went and shared their faith instead. They met Mauricio, who came to church the next day, and was baptized a week later!

The third one to be baptized was Jose DeLeon, or JD as we call him! He moved all the way from Boston to play quarterback for the Mt. SAC Football Team! But when he heard about the Kingdom of God, he decided to put his football career on hold so that he could focus on becoming a disciple, and JD was baptized last week as well!

As a college quarterback, leadership is JD’s God
given talent! Now he’ll use this talent to
    “tackle” becoming a leader
    in the Kingdom!

The second miracle, is that after much fundraising, including tagging everyday Monday through Saturday for three weeks straight, we were able to blow out our Special Missions Goal one month early!

The third miracle that brings us great joy, as we have the privilege of sending three more disciples down to Mexico City to help with the church there! Sara Oros and Josue Soriano are returning to Mexico City after being a part of the original mission team. And now one of our ICCM students, Dulce Jimenez will join them! We have full confidence in them and know that they will do an excellent job there!

The Spirit is sending Josue, Dulce and Sara to
    strengthen the Mexico City Church!

Here in the East, we have no greater joy than contributing in whatever way we can for the salvation of the world in this generation! Much love, mercy and grace to all!

HEADLINE NEWS – USA & CANADA

NEWS FLASH – Richie McDonnell: “Praise the Lord, for the Lord is good; sing praise to His name, for that is pleasant.” (Psalm 135:3) Greetings from beautiful Santa Barbara! God has been very good to the Santa Barbara Church just planted with 11 disciples in January and we are especially grateful to Him! In the last five weeks, God has added eight to our number – five through place membership and three through baptism!

Richie & Elizabeth are doing an outstanding job
in leading the Santa Barbara ICC!

Last week was incredible as Gabrielle Murillo and Chris Baty from the great San Diego Church placed membership; Dashawn Kelly – a campus student at SBCC was baptized into Christ; and we successfully collected a 19X Special Missions Contribution, overshooting our 15X Goal by collecting almost $12,000!

Dashawn is an incredible young man that was met in our neighborhood and invited to a Friday Night Devotional. He came and immediately fell in love with the church, and spent a lot of time with the disciples afterwards even joining us for our 10.5 Mile Walk-a-thon for Special Missions! During his very first Bible study, he boldly declared, “I’m all in!” He came to almost every church meeting for the next couple of weeks, continued studying the Bible, and was baptized last Sunday night! Dashawn has been such a great addition to the church, bringing much “refreshment to the hearts of the saints” (Philemon 7) in Santa Barbara because of his pure, humble heart.

    Dashawn declared himself “all in”
    after his very first study!

Lastly, God has blessed us with an incredible new meeting location for our Sunday services, a huge upgrade from where we were previously meeting, and still within our budget! We now meet at the Fess Parker Double Tree by Hilton Resort (633 E Cabrillo Blvd., Santa Barbara, CA 93103) located right on the beach in gorgeous Downtown Santa Barbara! Please be praying for us as many others are close to making Jesus their Lord and Savior!

The Fess Parker Hotel is the new home
    for the Santa Barbara Church!

NEWS FLASH – Jason Dimitry of Las Vegas: Greetings from Saint City! Our awesome Father in Heaven has blessed us with two more incredible weeks with the additions of three more souls to the Kingdom of God!

First, Anthony Jacobs, an ex-Minnesota Vikings NFL defensive end who has very deep convictions about the Bible, moved to Vegas a couple weeks ago for a job but Anthony now believes that the real reason God brought him here was to hear the truth and become a sold-out disciple of Christ!

Anthony – a former NFL Vikings Player – joins a
“team” that will never trade him!

Next to be baptized was Vanessa Perez, who truly had the Acts 2 “What shall I do?” attitude, as she gave up whatever she had to give up to enter the body of Christ!

Vanessa’s “What shall I do?” attitude
    inspires the LV Sisters!

Lastly, Mariah Robinson – our second dorm and sorority student – was baptized on Wednesday during Women’s Midweek! This gives us seven baptisms in the last three weeks! God is working powerfully here in “Saint City!”

Jhoally welcomes Mariah to the LV Family!

Ricky Challinor of Portland: Good news from the City of Bridges!!!! Last Sunday was incredible having Seth Roy baptized! This story goes back over one year ago when Seth was first brought out by Jeff Eitelbach, who is now in Las Vegas! Seth reached the Discipleship Study but wasn’t ready for the call to GO ANYWHERE, DO ANYTHING and GIVE UP EVERYTHING!

A few months ago, Seth reconnected with Jeff and myself. God “had done work in his life” and Seth came back ready to give his life to God! Though it has been a battle, Seth has overcome SO MUCH to become a sold-out disciple of Jesus Christ!!!

Seth is “beyond words” jubilant about his salvation!

I was personally encouraged as Seth was a state champion wrestler in high school and wrestled in college as well! Seth has been an answered prayer for me personally to baptize a wrestler! Continue to pray that God may bless the church with open hearts toward the Word!

Andrew Smellie: “Those who are far away will come and help to build the temple of the Lord, and you will know that the Lord Almighty has sent me to you. This will happen if you diligently obey the Lord your God.” (Zechariah 6:15) Greetings from New York City or “La Ciudad de Nueva York” in Spanish! Today was an inspiring day for both our English and Latin Ministries as our dear friends Joel & Courtney Parlour (Evangelist & WML of the Syracuse Church) preached and shared powerfully for our English Service, and another dear brother and future Latin Minister Saul Saveedra preached for our third Latin Ministry Service only hours later!

Since New York City is privileged to have a large racial diversity – almost 30% of New Yorkers come from a Hispanic background – there is an urgent need to reach these 2.4 million lost souls! As a result, Saul preached a powerful lesson entitled, When God Speaks, You Should Listen, and two dynamic couples from the Chicago Church Latin Ministry – Juan Carlos & Betty Garcia and Josue & Maria Guerrero – shared for Communion and Contribution! Both of these couples were also in town to “scout out the land” as they prepare to move to NYC this summer!

Like his New Testament Bible namesake, Saul
    fearlessly preaches the Word!

As Patrique & I get ready to move to LA in July in preparation to lead the Johannesburg Mission Team, the NYC Church will welcome the new leadership of Chris & Theresa Broom and also Mike & Brittany Underhill to continue building a powerful pillar church here for all of the East Coast! In order to financially sustain these two incredible ministry couples, 25 disciples from across the movement have accepted the call to “come and help build the temple of the Lord” here in New York City! It was so encouraging to host seven of these visiting disciples today as they journeyed to NYC to “scout out the land!” Please pray for God to work powerfully for them to find new housing and jobs as they give their hearts to “diligently obey” the call of the Lord! We love you!

Pray for the 25 disciples that will be moving from all
over America to strengthen the NYC Church!

Mike Patterson of Gainesville: “After this, Jesus traveled about from one town and village to another, proclaiming the good news of the Kingdom of God. The Twelve were with Him, and also some women who had been cured of evil spirits and diseases… These women were helping to support them out of their own means.” (Luke 8:1-3) Today was a celebration as we collected our Special Missions Contribution! Jesus called His Twelve to leave everything and train for the ministry full-time. The people impacted by their ministry gave out of their own means in order to help the Twelve train full-time in the ministry with Jesus!

Through prayer and counsel, we decided to use our first Special Missions of 10X to put on a full-time campus intern at the University of Florida. It is a sacrifice for us personally and the church but we believe as Jesus, the best way to train is full-time! Our goal was $10,000 and our amazing God gave us $13,398 and there is more coming in!

Mike & Chenelle have learned to not only
    forcefully advance their church through
    proclamation, but also through
    missions contributions!

We are also very excited to announce that because of this miracle, Marcel Turner will be our “UF Campus Intern!” Marcel was baptized in Portland, Oregon in 2007! Matt Sullivan who was leading the Phoenix ICC at the time took out of his own funds to hire me full-time as their Campus Minister and I asked Marcel to come with me. Building upon the Sullivans’ campus work, Marcel and I continued to build the ministry at Arizona State University, where many leaders of God’s movement were baptized: Coltin Rohn (Boston), Richie & Elizabeth McDonnell (Santa Barbara), Ashley Godwin (Los Angeles), and my beautiful wife Chenelle Patterson (Gainesville)!

Sadly, Marcel left the Lord three times since those early days. I’m reminded of Peter who disowned Jesus three times and when he was restored Jesus asked him, “Simon son of John do you love me more than these?” (John 21:17) Jesus then commissions him to “Feed [His] sheep.” Thanks to the efforts of Luke & Brandyn Speckman of LA and a unified brotherhood around the world, I believe Marcel has radically changed. Since being restored last year, he has been very fruitful but most of all I have seen a broken man who relies on God in his weaknesses. We are very excited to have Marcel on staff! Please pray for this internship as Marcel continues to train, work on his character, and prove himself to God and to men!

Marcel and Mike are best of friends
    and partners in the gospel!

Jeremy Ciaramella of Phoenix: Greetings from the “Valley of the Son!” God blessed us at our Men’s Night Out with an incredible ASU student, Brice, being baptized! It was very refreshing for all of us to study with someone who had the heart of a Berean! As well, Brice also was somewhat like Apollos – as he was a recognized teacher in his former church! After Brice’s baptism into Christ, his former pastor/mentor “shut-down” his church literally this week and Brice promptly invited them all out to our service! We are grateful that our Father has brought us another brother, another soldier, to help us build the ASU Campus Ministry. Pray for us as we pray for you!

Brice is so grateful to God that the ASU Campus
Ministry taught him “the way of God more
    accurately!” (Acts 18:26 RSV)

Jay Hernandez of Hilo: Greetings from the “Waterdogs” of the Big Island of Hawaii! God continues to bless us as we raise money for Special Missions, and as we raise up His banner for the lost! Joanne was baptized this evening despite some difficult times in our Campus Ministry. It was a great reminder to me that God makes us grow; He does the work; and He gives us the strength! Joanne first came to the Kingdom with her boyfriend who had studied the Bible a few years ago. Every week she became stronger in her faith as the sisters loved her enough to call her to give up her boyfriend of a couple of years. Despite some very emotional days, Joanna gratefully made Jesus her Lord this beautiful Hawaiian evening!

The “Waterdogs” strike again with the
    baptism of Joanna!

Mike Underhill: Greetings from the San Francisco Bay! This year we are excited to be doing three different Women’s Days to better evangelize the different geographic regions in the Bay Area. Last Saturday, five San Jose women had an attendance of 31! This week, 12 sisters from San Francisco and San Mateo had an attendance of 38! Everyone was very moved by the inspiring preaching from our very own Cyndee Ochs, as well as the sisters who so vulnerably shared their testimonies!

Additionally, last week, the church was so glad to have James & Becky Mitchell of Las Vegas place membership with us! They are the first of the 13 moving here from Las Vegas this summer! Today, we were honored to have our brother Johnny Rock Page in town from LA, and he shared joyfully for contribution from Malachi 3 about “having fun with God” by testing Him with radical financial giving! Thank you for all your prayers and we are praying for you as well!

Maria Franklin of Chicago: “Shouts of joy and victory resound in the tents of the righteous: ‘The Lord’s right hand has done mighty things!’” (Psalm 118:15) The Lord continues to do mighty deeds for us here in Chicago! Last Sunday, with a challenging goal of $101,000 for our 15X Special Missions Contribution, the generosity of the disciples overflowed as we collected just under $107,000!

Love is in the air as in the last two weeks, four new couples have started dating! Congratulations to Jasmine & Cordero, Wendy & Daanyel, Erica & Umberto, and last but not least, Ashley & Velmont!

An inspiration to singles everywhere – four
dating couples in the last two weeks!

Of great excitement for us ladies, our Annual Women’s Day was held yesterday! Our theme was PASSIONATE! It was such a phenomenal and excellent event all around and completed with a chocolate dessert party! We were honored as Helen Sullivan spoke to us about being “passionate” for our relationship with God! In the English Program, 81 sisters had 171 in attendance, and in the Spanish Program, 26 sisters had 81 in attendance for a combined attendance 257! Although the preparation work for Women’s Day is over, the real work has just begun for us as we seek to gather an incredible harvest from this event!

    Helen Sullivan preaches passionately
    at the Chicago Women’s Day!

To close out an incredible weekend, at church today, John was baptized into Christ! John had been faithfully attending church and Bible Talk every week for the past two years ever since his awesome daughter Tiffany (a student at UIC) was baptized! Tears were shed as our hearts were stirred to see a father and daughter bonded by the precious blood of Jesus!

John and Tiffany are the fulfillment of Malachi 4:6,
“The Lord will turn the hearts of fathers to
their children and the hearts of
    children to their fathers!”

Coltin Rohn of Boston: “Jesus went out and saw a tax collector by the name of Levi sitting at his tax booth. ‘Follow me,’ Jesus said to him, and Levi got up, left everything and followed Him. Then Levi held a great banquet for Jesus at His house!” (Luke 5:27-29) What a great time we had this past weekend at our New Christian Orientation! After Jesus called Matthew to “follow him” they celebrated with a feast!

We also had a feast for those who have decided to make Jesus Lord of their lives and follow Him over the past few months! Each new disciple was given a folder with a bunch of “Disciple Needed Goodies!” With five charges from the Scriptures, the disciples were solidified in their recent decision of becoming true Christians! Fellowship was sweet as we ate and truly “feasted” the night away! We are so grateful for the amazing disciples God has blessed us with here in Boston!

    Boston’s New Christian Orientation!

Ron Harding: Greetings from Washington DC! Jashana, a Howard University student who was a high school valedictorian, hailing from the Virgin Islands, humbled herself like the Eunuch, studied the Scriptures like a Berean, literally memorized the entire First Principles Study Series, confessed “Jesus is Lord,” was baptized and entered God’s Kingdom! Please pray for her sister Vanessa who is also studying the Bible to be become a true disciple of Jesus!

Jashana memorized the entire First Principle
    Studies before she was baptized!

     HEADLINE NEWS – INTERNATIONAL

NEWS FLASH – Carlos Mejia of Santiago: I am excited and grateful to announce the birth of the Bogotá ICC Remnant Group! One of the highlights of the 2014 Central and South America Missions Conference was the announcement of the Bogota, Colombia Church Planting scheduled for February, 2015! As God is always at work, a remnant group has come out of this great city of eight million, where there was once a church in our former fellowship of 1,900 disciples! As the church became lukewarm, fractured and splintered from returning to Mainline theology, today there are only 400 “members” left.

Carlos & Lucy after praying over Bogatá – a city
    of eight million lost souls!

Lucy & I had the privilege to visit and work with Hector & Adriana Gomez, the former ICOC Lead Evangelist and Women’s Ministry Leader, who built this once glorious church from 800 to 1,865! During their years of service, they sent out two other mission teams to key cities in Colombia – Medellin and Cali! These two awesome disciples joined by five other amazing disciples are fired up to join God’s new SoldOut Movement and build a base for us as we prepare to send the mission team next year! At the first service of the Bogotá International Christian Church, the Lord blessed us with 45 in attendance!

    The Bogatá International Christian Church!

Carlos and Hector bond through the common
vision of the evangelization of Colombia!

This is so exciting for the Santiago Church as we approach our Special Missions Contribution on June 1st! The disciples are beyond motivated and jubilant as we will have the honor and privilege to participate in“Phase Two” of the Crown of Thorns Project by Lord willing, planting Bogatá, Colombia!

Upon our return to Santiago we were blessed to see two baptized into Christ: Belen a teen and sister of our dear sister Claudia, and Edwin, a young single man were added to God’s Kingdom!

Claudia and Edwin are spiritual twins!

Finally, we were so sad to say “goodbye” to our beloved Jared & Rachel McGee, who the Spirit is sending to lead the church in Mexico City! The Going Away Party was amazing as usual in the Kingdom, complete with heartfelt sharing, a video to honor the McGees, music and food! The Santiago Church will greatly miss Jared, Rachel and their awesome missionary baby, Priscilla, as they have become amazing leaders for God’s Kingdom. It was so heart-moving to see not only the campus and teens, but also marrieds and singles share with tears about how they have been transformed because of the love of Christ shown through Jared & Rachel.

The Santiago Campus Ministry gathers around
the McGee’s to say goodbye… for now!

Pray for the evangelization of Central & South America in THIS generation!

Gina Dela Pena: “Look at the nations and watch and be utterly amazed. For I am going to do something in your days that you would not believe, even if you were told!” (Habakkuk 1:5) Amazing news from the Metro Manila International Christian Church! Our Women’s Day has continued to bear fruit as Analyn Corminal, another woman whose first attendance was during our Women’s Day, was baptized after service today!

Analyn gives “two thumbs up” after her baptism!

So from eight remnant disciples in November 2012, the Metro Manila International Christian Church has grown to 40 sold-out disciples… and still counting and growing! We are looking forward to seeing many more baptisms as another 17 people are studying the Bible! Lastly, everyone is looking forward to Kyle Bartholomew’s visit at the end of the month, when he will introduce the Tabizon Family – a newly appointed Shepherding Couple in LA – who are moving here permanently to be partners in the gospel and win the Philippines for Christ! To God be the glory!

Blaise Feumba reporting on Haiti: The Lord is continuing to use to the SoldOut Movement disciples in Haiti, as three more souls were baptized in Port-au-prince and in Camp Perrin: Dulva Alva, Gethro and Valmont!

Dulva after being baptized by Daudier Jean, the
Leader of the Camp Perrin ICC!

Gethro being baptized in Camp Perrin!

Anel, one of the first seven preachers baptized
last year, baptizing and making disciples!

Equally moving news was about the “50 street kids” that were invited and gathered for a meal by Jean Bonard, Loverlie his wife, and the Jacmel ICC disciples! For those kids that Saturday looked like a “taste of Heaven” as they barely have a proper meal each day!

Jean Bonard, the leader of the Jacmel ICC, with
the 50 street children the church
    hosted for a lunch!

Jean looks like Jesus for these hungry children!

Please be praying for Alexis Turgeau – the first our Haitian Preachers to be baptized – as two of his sons were kidnapped for two hours by unknown gunmen who threatened to kill them! Praise God, through a series of events – some we know, some we don’t know – they were delivered by God’s hand! This happened shortly after Alexis has ministered to a Restoration Movement Church pleading for revival and teaching how to make disciples! It has been “suggested by outsiders” that this was the reason for the attack! To God be the glory!

Alexis preaching at the cost of his family’s lives!

Blaise Feumba reporting on Abidjan: A month ago, Amadou Sountoura the Abidjan ICC Leader started a Radio Program that is turning the city upsidedown! Every Friday from 8:30PM to 10PM, the gospel is preached through the radio waves “with power, with the Holy Spirit and with deep conviction.” (1 Thessalonians 1:5) After every program, 20 to 30 people respond by calling directly to study with Amadou! The Muslim journalist who directs the program has been so impacted by Amadou’s messages that he stopped attending his mosque and has bought himself a Bible to study! This Sunday this program bared its first fruit with the baptism of Sophie – a 25 years old student in French Literature!

    Sold-out singing before Sophie’s baptism!

Sophie becomes the first fruits of
    Amadou’s Radio Ministry!

Also baptized this Sunday with Sophie were three more young students: Serge, Guy and Serge! To God be the glory!

Guy was baptized shortly after Sophie!

Blaise Feumba: Greetings from the London Church! Sunday was the Feumba Family’s last Sunday Service with the awesome disciples of the London Church! We can’t believe three years have passed since we first landed in London in July 2011. We will always cherish the memory of the gracious reception at Heathrow Airport and the incredible love that the disciples here have shown to us.

The Feumbas arrival in London in July 2011!

The London Church has been for us a “city of refuge” and we are so thankful to Michael & Michele for their hospitality, friendship and support! We have become part of the amazing family of SoldOut Movement disciples here. The sharing today at our Send-off Party from our dear brothers and sisters tore our hearts apart as they expressed what we meant to them with so much love and grace. We are so looking forward to the next chapter in our lives in moving to LA to serve in the awe-inspiring City of Angels Church!

Partners in the gospel forever – the Williamsons
    and the Feumbas!

During Blaise’s three year stay in London he had
many opportunities to teach Michael some
    “real African dance moves!”

Blaise & Patricia and their beautiful three children
will arrive at LAX next Sunday!

The Lord made this last Sunday even more special with the baptism of Thomas, a talented young sports coach from Poland! Three years ago, Thomas was invited to the first Bible Talk I attended in East London and for three long years he has resisted and doubted the Lord’s call for his life! A few weeks ago, Thomas finally made the decision – through the perseverance of Michael Ochwa – to surrender to the cross. He studied daily this past week with eagerness and great fervor! Today at church for his baptism, Thomas had four guests out including his roommate “Peter” who is also now studying the Bible! Suffice to say he’s no longer “DOUBTING THOMAS!”

Like his Bible namesake, London’s former “Doubting
    Thomas” proclaims, “My Lord and
    my God!” (John 20:28)

Raul Moreno: “Paul took the disciples with him and had discussions daily in the lecture hall of Tyrannus.” (Acts 19:19) Greetings from São Paulo! In the spirit mentioned in this passage, two campus men were baptized! First, Douglas was baptized and he studies Civil Engineering at FMU University! Then, Benjamin was baptized and he studies Electrical Engineering at USP University! He is a very talented young man as he is Chinese Brazilian and is fluent in five languages – one of them being Mandarin Chinese!

Caio is so fired up that he was able to
    baptize his good friend Benjamin!

We are excited to see what the Lord is continuing to do around the world! We love you with the love of the Lord!

Debs Rajan of Chennai: Greetings! (English) Namaste! (Hindi) Vanakkam! (Tamil) This weekend, Yesuraj (means Jesus reigns) was baptized and now he lives up to his name of Jesus reigning in his life!

Jesus now reigns in Yesuraj’s life!

The month of May has always been fun with Summer Interns and campaigning for souls! On May Day (May 1st), the whole church joined the campaign for souls! We gathered in five locations to do Bible studies and in one day we had 33 personal Bible studies! Looking forward to the harvest of souls and seeing everyone at the GLC!

    The hard-working Chennai ICC Leadership!

NEWS FLASH – Joe Willis: G’day from Sydney! Last weekend, our first stunning All Church Retreat was set in Australia’s breath-taking Blue Mountains! The fireside devotional, the early morning quiet times, and the powerful sermons were just what the Sydney Church needed to be refreshed to once again be “poured out like a drink offering” for the incredible Australian people! (2 Timothy 4:6)

    The Sydney Church Retreat!

Having come down from this mountain top experience, this weekend, God showered us with love from above as two very special people were added to Gods Kingdom in Sydney! Lennox (a professional soccer player) and Keira (a massage therapist for two of the top rugby clubs) arrived at our Sunday service in March after searching online for (in Lennox’s own words) “a church that believed in repentance and baptism for the forgiveness of sins.”

Lennox had become a Christian in our former fellowship three years prior, but had drifted from God and in that time had started dating Keira. However, always knowing what the truth was, he decided to look for God once again and after studying the Scriptures was restored this Sunday at church! Then to make God’s joy complete, Lennox baptized Keira at the beach later that afternoon!

After Lennox was restored in the morning, Joe
helps Lennox baptize his girlfriend – Keira!

Kerry and Nathalie embrace Keira after
    her unforgettable baptism!

The night before, Keira had kindly given many of us free tickets to see the International Rugby Game between Samoa and Fiji. Mason was able to see more of his “Samoan countrymen” than ever before and through their heartsy victory was truly inspired to be the leader for his people and take the Word to the Islands!

While watching the Samoa vs. Fiji Rugby Match,
Mason & Nathalie (bottom left taking the
picture) renew their vision to take
    the gospel to Somoa and
    all Oceania!

Dearest Brothers and Sisters: Just a quick reminder that this coming Sunday is Mother’s Day! So let’s “give honor to whom honor is due”by letting our Moms, Grandmas, Spiritual Moms and Spiritual Grandmothers know how very much we appreciate their love expressed in so many ways in our lives! (Romans 13:7)

Seated between Elena and Sharon, Kip’s beloved
mom celebrates an early Mother’s Day during
    the CAICC Championship Game Weekend!

Lastly, please keep Elena & me in your prayers as we travel to Mexico City this weekend. We will be assisting in the leadership hand-off from Vic & Aurora Gonzalez to Jared & Rachel McGee! We are excited to have the Gonzalez Jr. Familia coming back home to LA! Also, coming with us from LA to stay and build up the Mexico City Church are: Dulce Jimenez, Miguel Limon and Josue Soriano!

Then the following weekend, we travel to San Francisco to familiarize Jason & Sarah Dimitry – the new leaders of this great church – with all the exciting evangelistic opportunities in this metropolis of 7.5 million lost souls! As well, we will be participating in the worship at the San Francisco Bay Church that Sunday morning! Then, Lord willing, on Sunday May 25, 2014 is the Send off Service for the Tabizons and Tuasons to Manila and the Toronto Mission Team! Pray for these gallant disciples!

One last piece of good news, my awesome co-editor of the Good News Email celebrates her 25th Birthday today on Cinco de Mayo! Congrats Sis!

    Happy 25th Birthday to Rebecca!

And “may the grace of the Lord Jesus Christ, and the love of God, and the fellowship of the Holy Spirit be with you all!” (2 Corinthians 13:14)
    Much love,
    Kip

  • Dashawn’s Baptism – April 27, 2014

    Dashawn’s Baptism – April 27, 2014

    New Additions – April 20, 2014

Richie McDonnell – April 20, 2014: Greetings from beautiful Santa Barbara! Of recent, there has been great excitement in the Santa Barbara Church! This past week, God has added one to our number through the incredible birth of Elizabeth’s & my first baby, Sawyer Samuel McDonnell at 7lbs. 15oz and 20″ long! He was born on Saturday afternoon, April 12th. Sawyer and Elizabeth are both very healthy and doing great! So is Dad!

    Sawyer Samuel McDonnell!
    Sawyer Samuel McDonnell!

Elizabeth & I are both very encouraged as the Lord has really been blessing the Santa Barbara Church with other additions as well! The original mission team started with just 11 disciples in January, and by next Sunday we will have two more disciples move in from San Diego which brings us to 17 sold-out disciples! And there are a few people who Lord willing will be baptized very soon! The faith goal we set before the Lord when we planted the church in January was to double the original mission team to 22 in six months! Please be praying for the Lord to multiply His disciples in Santa Barbara!

  • The Good News Email – 04-20-2014

    Dear All,

Happy Easter from Los Angeles! What an incredible week for the City of Angels Church as the Lord blessed us with 21 additions – four place memberships, two restoration and 15 baptisms! As well, our All Congregational Easter Service was blow away from the “Good News Sharing” by the Region Leaders to the Sounds of the Cross Communion by the AMS Ministry to the “laying on of hands” for our two newest Regional Shepherding Couples – Travis & Cecy Frazier (North Region) and Rich & Angie Tabizon (Central Region)!

“You are looking for Jesus who was crucified.
    He has risen!” (Mark 16:6)

So excitingly, our Easter Service – through the efforts of our incredible CyberEvangelists and WebDeacons – was a “Livestream Broadcast!” According to our data there were “seekers” in 43 nations: Australia, Brazil, Canada, Chile, Colombia, Croatia, England, Estonia, Fiji, Finland, France, Gambia, Germany, Guam, Guinea, Haiti, Hong Kong, Hungary, India, Indonesia, Italy, Ivory Coast, Jamaica, Japan, Jordan, Kenya, Martinique, Mexico, Morocco, Netherlands, New Zealand, Peru, Philippines, Puerto Rico, Russia, South Africa, Sweden, Switzerland, Thailand, Turks and Caicos Islands, Ukraine, United Arab Emirates, and the United States! The world is being evangelized! And to God be the glory!

“Jesus said to His disciples, ‘Go into all the world
and preach the good news to all
    creation!’” (Mark 16:15)

And now more detailed reports from around the LA Five County Metro Area…

Capil Marhatta: Greetings from the Sensational South! He has Risen! The Lord continues to use us “to raise to a new life” lost souls especially on this Easter Sunday! To God’s glory five souls were added by baptism to God’s precious Kingdom here in the Long Beach Area!

Stacy & Lynette Ybarra were “on cloud nine” with the angels rejoicing as they saw their son Christian (20) & daughter Cameryn (14) get baptized at yesterday’s Easter Service! Stacy & Lynette were just recently restored to the Lord last month and God has blessed their repentance by their kids becoming disciples!

Last Easter, Cameryn asked Lynette about Jesus and she realized that Cameryn didn’t even understand that Jesus died on Good Friday not Easter! Then just a few months ago, Cameryn asked her father Stacy to baptize her and Stacy knowing the truth (even though he wasn’t living it or even going to church) saw that the only way he could baptize his daughter was to get right with God himself! Stacy phoned Chris Chloupek who married Lynette & him and through the AMS and South Region disciples, the Ybarras were restored and now their kids are disciples!

After Cameryn is baptized by her dad & mom, her
    “brother brother” Christian applauds!

The Teen Ministry has been on the rise as well as they have added three in the last month with Myles Ellison-Keys and Cameryn Ybarra added Sunday! Myles (13) is a very pure hearted boy who became a man of God as he made Jesus the Lord of his life! Myles is a “Kingdom Kid” whose mom is Stephanie Keys, who has been serving tirelessly for years in the City of Angels Church!

Our new brother Myles has come “miles” to
    become a baptized disciple!

Also, a young man named Harry DeBerry was baptized! He is an incredible young man who was dating our dear sister Mitchelle in the world while playing semi-professional football, and by Mitchelle’s faith in God and example he has joined the party in the Kingdom!

    Lance (left) and Andrew welcome
    Harry into the Kingdom!

Finally, our Russian sisters Aliona and Olena baptized a Russian-American young lady named Anya! She has been wrestling with the Scriptures for a few months and came to the conclusion that Jesus isn’t a mean God but in fact was loving, compassionate and humble!

Our dear American-Russian sister Anya is baptized
just in time to start training for the
    Moscow Mission Team!

In other good news, when disciples are bearing fruit God blesses relationships as well! Anthony Olmos & Cassidy Deaves who lead our crankin’ Campus Ministry were engaged last week where Anthony & Cassidy had their whole family present! Amen!

Since Anthony & Cassidy served gallantly on the
Paris Mission Team, the Kernan Family
    congratulates them upon
    their engagement!

Finally, to cap off all of the victories in the Lord today, my co-leader in the Sensational South Teen Ministry Joe Estep asked me to be his girlfriend down by the famous ship, the Queen Mary in Long Beach! As Ice Cube once sang, “Today was a good day!”

    Congratulations to Joe & Capil!

Kyle Bartholomew of the Central Region: Greetings! Joan & I were so privileged to appoint two of our closest friends as a Shepherding Couple – Rich & Angie Tabizon! Though sad for all of us in the Central Region, the Tabizons will leave for their new home in Manila on May 26th! Of course, this is exciting news that the Metro Manila ICC will have its first Shepherding Couple! Joan & I look forward to meeting them in Manila just a little over a year from now with the rest of the mission team! And to God be the glory!

Kyle & Joan Bartholomew (left) appoint Rich & Angie
Tabizon to be a Shepherding Couple for the Central
Region and for the Manila Church!

Tyler Sears: Greetings and Happy Easter from the West Region! God is always faithful to His promises, and we in the West are very grateful for this! Last week, the Lord added two to our number through baptism with a young, single man named Femi and a UCLA student named Stephanie! This week, for Easter, we baptized another UCLA student named Chase who studied every day until he was baptized!

UCLA has had two awesome baptisms in the last two
weeks – Stephanie (above) and Chase
    (second from the left)!

Brandyn Speckman of the Ventura Region: Greetings from Ventura and the Teen Retreat Headquarters! Today we welcomed two incredible disciples into the Ventura Region! Scot Kendrick returns to Ventura from the Dallas-Fort Worth Remnant Group as an engaged man! His “wife-to-be” is an awesome single mom in our region – Michelle Turner!

The entire Ventura Region is so excited about
    Scot & Michelle’s engagement!

Also, Violeta Swann comes from the mighty San Diego Church! We now have three generations of Swann disciples in our region! This family united in Christ brings us a great hope for all of our family members “to be saved and come to a knowledge of the truth!” (1 Timothy 2:4)

The three generations of Swanns – Violeta (front
center), her son David (back right)
    and his son Kyle!

On another note, we bring back a “good report” from the AWESOME Teen Retreat last weekend! What an incredible group of young men and women who simply want to serve and honor God! Our weekend theme was Zeal For Your House (John 2:17) and the camp grounds were a perfect location for the 40 Teen Participants (majority disciples) to put their “zeal” into practice!

The CAICC Teen Retreat was awesome!

Brandyn captivates the young women’s hearts
    with an inspirational Bible lesson!

The camp highlights included homemade feasts (prepared by my amazing husband!), archery, a volleyball challenge, basketball, Sunday service on the top of a mountain, late night “Capture the Flag” Tournament, peer preaching, d-groups, campfire preaching, and of course, S’mores!!! One teen disciple commented, “This was just what I needed to get back to my first love and have zeal for God!” We saw hearts convert from weary upon arrival to on fire at departure!

    Archery!

Luke wakes up extra early to make a
    scrumptious pancake breakfast!

The Brothers waste no time eating the
    scrumptious pancake breakfast!

Nothing like a hot chocolate to start the day!

Nothing like S’mores to end the day!

    The Teen Worship Service begins!

    Kirk Hamula preaching about zeal!

The dangers of preaching outside – Kirk moves
a stink bug in the middle of his lesson!

We love you from the bottom of our hearts! Please keep Ventura in your prayers!

Tim Kernan of the North Region: “‘I myself will gather the remnant of my flock out of all the countries where I have driven them and will bring them back to their pasture, where they will be fruitful and increase in number. I will place shepherds over them who will tend them, and they will no longer be afraid or terrified, nor will any be missing,’ declares the Lord.” (Jeremiah 23:3-4) This Sunday was such a special day for Lianne & me as we were able to appoint our dear friends Travis & Cecy (Mejia) Frazier as powerful shepherds of the Lord over the North Region!

The Willises and the Kernans trained Travis & Cecy
Frazier to become a dynamic Shepherding
    Couple for the North Region!

In working in the North with Travis & Cecy, Lianne & I constantly have to pinch ourselves to see if we are only dreaming! But we aren’t dreaming, this serving, loving, humble couple is for real! Cecy is the sister of Carlos Mejia, the powerful evangelist in Santiago, Chile! Lianne & I are so proud of the region even as we are preparing to leave to go home to Toronto, but we know Travis & Cecy will welcome Blaise & Patricia Feumba and their children from London as well as Josh Koralek from New York City with all their hearts!

Also it has been incredible to welcome Steve Fraser from London and Eric Boomer from Hilo who have arrived to train for the Toronto Mission Team! Pray as well for the North Region to blow out our 20X Missions Contribution!

Helena Wademan (right), Junior Kernan (center) and
David Kernan are tagging to raise funds for
    the Toronto Mission Team!

Cory Blackwell: “Not to us, O Lord, not to us but to your name be the glory, because of your love and faithfulness.” (Psalm 115:1) Today was amazing! Kip’s sermon touched many hearts. I was really convicted when Kip spoke from the Scripture about the two thieves, “They both had the same circumstances, but totally different responses. So clearly circumstances do not determine the heart!” Another thought-provoking illustration was from the movie FROZEN, where to “unfreeze a frozen heart” required an act of love! Seeing what God is doing here in LA and around the world, I feel my heart becoming more and more “unfrozen!”

Elsa and Anna – the stars of the movie FROZEN!

There is so much good news in Southland! At the beginning of the week, I prayed so hard for fruit that I did not see. However, I was certain God would provide! God did “more than all I could ask or imagine!”(Ephesians 3:20) I am so proud of the Southland Ministry and honored to lead such incredible people! The Lord added to our number five strong men! Tyrone Davis, a single father of three, inspired us with his love for his three boys and now an even greater love for Christ!

Tyrone is surrounded by his physical family – his
three precious sons and his parents!

Lupe de Jesus Chavez, a single brother who studied for almost a year, shared before his baptism that he may not be a great speaker or a fast learner, but he was not afraid to speak boldly that “Jesus is Lord!”

Lupe makes a rock-solid decision to
be a sold-out disciple of Jesus!

Oscar Salvado battled hard. At times it seemed that his sin might master him, but after wrestling with God he received his blessing in the waters of baptism. Isidro Ayala has been eager from day one, decided that not another day would pass without him being sure of his own salvation. He stayed up the next 24 hours studying until he was baptized Sunday at church!

Isidro studied the Scriptures all night and
    was baptized Easter morning!

Very dear to my heart was the return of my brother Johnny Sanchez! He and his wife Veronica were the number five and six baptisms in Southland. Both were awesome Bible Talk Leaders, but sin and doubt “froze” their hearts and they fell away. Johnny’s heart has thawed and he has truly repented and is ready to preach the Word once more! Pray for us that the harvest continues to come in and that we will continue to mature into mighty disciples that will evangelize all the 3.8 million lost souls in the Southland Region!

Victor Gonzalez Sr.: Greetings from the mighty East Region! Our whole region has been working tirelessly tagging Monday thru Saturday to raise money for special missions! We are praying to have it done by April 27th three weeks early!

Another miracle was our dear brother Josue Soriano getting restored to the Lord! The disciples and all the angels in heaven were rejoicing over him being reunited with his true family again! He is the “hope of Honduras” where his physically family lives. Pray for Josue to someday be strong enough to return to plant a sold-out church in his beloved homeland!

Josue’s return to the Lord will prayerfully allow
him to fulfill his destiny to bring the
    gospel to Honduras!

For the last two weeks, we also had the privilege of hearing Tim Kernan and our “soon-to-be Region Leader” Cesar Limon preach powerful midweek lessons to inspire us to go to all nations! To put the cherry on top, at our All Congregational Service today, we had two baptisms! One from our Cal Poly Ministry a woman name Serena, who is from the nation of Jordan, and a dynamic young man who was met by the Mt. Sac Ministry – Gilbert.

Serena (back center) surrenders her desire to be
baptized in the Jordan River of her home
nation because of her urgency to
    be right with God!

Over 1,000 in the audience thunderously applauded
when Gilbert shared before his baptism that to
become a disciple he had to give up his
    job at the marijuana dispensery!

Please continue to pray for the East Region as we strive more and more to gather the harvest for more workers!

Erik af Klint: “There will be large numbers of fish, because this water flows there and makes the salt water fresh; so where the river flows everything will live.” (Ezekiel 47:9) Greetings of love from the Inland Empire!

The life-giving waters of baptism continue to flow from God’s Temple here in the Inland Empire! His fishermen continue to catch fish as this past week, four more were saved by the fresh waters of baptism! Very excitingly, four of our ministries each caught a fish! First was a very humble young man named Alex from the RCC Campus! Second was Maria from UCR, who had been part of a religious group on campus for a long time but now she has the truth and is ready to preach the Word!

Two of the IE Regions’ newest disciples – Alex and
Maria – issue the challenge, “You will be next!”

Then we had two baptisms in our “Mingles” (Singles and Marrieds) – Celennia and George! George was reached out to by Robert, who is the father of Brandon, an awesome disciple in San Diego! God put Robert in charge of his own nephew, George, and simply brought him along to church. From the start, George loved the truth of the Scriptures as God truly “appoints the times and places!” (Acts 17:26-27)

George likewise gives the IE’s weekly challenge!

Lastly, we saw Celennia, a mother of two daughters, baptized into Christ! Celennia inspires so many as she has been through so much! Last year, her partner was murdered and so she was alone and depressed but this tragedy led her to start seeking for the truth! She was invited to church and being that her two daughters loved it, they begged her to bring them back! Celennia is an example of how our God can heal anyone that has been through anything!

Celennia’s journey to become a true Christian
inspires the City of Angels Church!

Also great news is that we have almost 80% of our Special Missions completed so that the waters of baptism continue to flow from the Temple of God into the desert and into all the world!! To God be all the Glory!

HEADLINE NEWS – USA & CANADA

NEWS FLASH – Jason Dimitry of Las Vegas: “Don’t you have a saying ‘It’s still four months until the harvest?’ I tell you, open your eyes and look at the fields! They are ripe for the harvest.” (John 4:35) Greetings from “Saint City!” The Las Vegas Church was planted just 11 months ago! However, just two months from now our “baby church” has been called by the Holy Spirit to send out 13 of its leaders to humbly serve alongside the incredible disciples of the great San Francisco Bay Church! But even in the midst of a transition, the Bible says that the harvest is ripe RIGHT NOW! And we’re so fired up to see the harvesting of four souls in the last two weeks!

Victor & Sonia Gonzalez will become the new
    LV Church Leaders in July!

It was incredible to see our dearly loved sister Daisha baptize Danesha and Shay, her two teen sisters!

Danesha, Daisha and Shay – “Sisters” in Christ!

Then, God gave us two incredibly zealous Filipino nursing students, who were baptized into Christ: Eliza a dorm student from UNLV and Vaughn from College of Southern Nevada!

Eliza’s baptism will allow the LV Church to
have a Dorm Bible Talk at UNLV!

And to top it all off we have a new dating couple, Mason Lally & Sam Wilson!

Mason & Sam are all smiles after
    they start dating!

Please pray as we could have several more baptized this week!

Richie McDonnell: Greetings from beautiful Santa Barbara!

    The Santa Barbara Church runs
    to raise mission funds!

Courtney Parlour: “With great power the apostles continued to testify to the resurrection of the Lord Jesus. And God’s grace was so powerfully at work in them all…” (Acts 4:33) We have seen God’s grace powerfully at work here in the Syracuse Church! Today we had our largest service yet as 133 people gathered for an incredible church service full of musical performances, a creative play, a graceful dance, and the Word preached with conviction by my husband, Joel! We were personally encouraged as Joel’s parents, Roger & Kama, were visiting from Boston and were able to share powerfully for communion and contribution! The Parlour Sr.’s are heroes in the faith to many in the Syracuse Church as they were on the original church planting to Syracuse in 1993!

Courtney writes a song that the Syracuse Kids
    Kingdom performs on Easter Sunday!

The highlight of the service today was the baptism of our new sister Delilah! She is an amazing single mom of three boys, one of which has autism. Delilah was first introduced to the church ten years ago at the age of 17, but unfortunately decided to plunge into the world. God later put a sister named Amy Ludwig in her life and she was reintroduced to God and the church. A couple of months ago, Delilah decided to move her wonderful family from Albany to Syracuse. This radical decision was so that she could be around the Kingdom to become a true disciple and to give her boys the opportunity to become disciples!

In the midst of finding a new home, a new job, and putting her boys in school, Delilah studied the Bible diligently! She truly has made every effort to enter the Kingdom!

Delilah makes the radical decision to move her family
to Syracuse in order to seek the Kingdom first!

We are with you heart and soul here in sunny, Central New York State!

Coltin Rohn of Boston: “I am the true vine, and my Father is the gardener. He cuts off every branch in me that bears no fruit, while every branch that does bear fruit He prunes.” (John 15:1-2) Pruning is needed, but it’s super painful! However, we presently have 45 disciples, but God blessed us with 97 in attendance at our Easter Worship Service! Many are set up to do Bible studies and I believe, we will be “even more fruitful” in the weeks to come! God also allowed us to take up our Special Missions today and we collected over $32,000 for the Lord! With more to still be collected! Happy Resurrection Day!

Matt Sullivan of Orlando: God has been so good to us as we are striving to rebuild a firm foundation of disciples and leaders after the planting of two churches in the last four months! Even after 26 members have been sent out (25% of our congregation) – we had a great attendance this Easter Sunday of 106 with so many visitors! It was awesome! I was personally encouraged that several remnant disciples decided to “check us out!”

Mackenzie was fired up to be a disciple at her first Easter Service, as she was met by Tia at Rollins College and just baptized this last Wednesday night after First Principles!

Tia and Mackenzie are now partners in the gospel
at the prestigious Rollins College in Winter Park!

In addition, Yvonise from our rapidly growing AMS Ministry was baptized last Sunday and now has joined her husband Donald in the Lord as a faithful baptized disciple! They are an amazing couple who have already added so much to the ministry here in the Real Magic Kingdom!

Yvonise & Donald are now united in Christ!

Please keep us in your prayers as we seek to rebuild here in the South which God has charged us to evangelize! Also please keep Houston and Gainesville on your prayer list!

Anthony Eckels: God blessed the 21 person mission team of the Houston International Christian Church with an amazing Inaugural Service with an attendance of 86! The church was so inspired to have Kip & Elena, Tyler & Shay, Matt & Helen, and Job & Erin as well as other disciples from LA, Gainesville, Orlando and Dallas to support our efforts! We would like to send a huge thank you to all who attended!

The DFW Mission Team Leaders – Tyler & Shay
Sears – and the DFW Remnant Group
    Leaders – Job & Erin Sterling –
    support their Texas sister
    church’s Inaugural
    Service!

The service was very encouraging as Sharon Cambell and her son Joshua Kelly were welcomed by the Sisters of Encouragement as they placed membership from LA! Then Matt & Helen zealously shared for contribution; Elena shared a heartfelt communion; and then I preached a message entitled, A Church After God’s Own Heart! Following the message, Matt presented the Mission Team and the Houston Remnant Group with upside-down globes and prayed over the church!

The phenomenal Inaugural Service of the Houston
    International Christian Church!

This past week was equally encouraging as we saw our daughter and son in the faith, as well as some of our closest friends, Smoot & Brittany wed one another! There was not a dry eye as Brittany walked down the aisle. Their families both attended the wedding and were showered with love.  Smoot’s brother shared at the rehearsal dinner that he was blown away by the love and warmth of the church.

    Congrats to Smoot & Brittany!

Please pray for us as we have many studies, and are trying to “break the religious chains” Satan has on Houston!

Maria Franklin of Chicago: Last Sunday, Gaby was baptized into the saving waters through the efforts of the Latin Region! Gaby was met by Alma over five years ago! Alma persevered with Gaby even though she had studied with her over a year ago and had rejected God. Gaby finally decided to surrender to God by giving up a twelve year relationship and the father of her ten year old son. She even gave up a vacation because she was so urgent to get right with God! Her gratitude is inspiring as she continues to radically share her faith!

The Chicago Latin Sisters worked hard and
long to bring Gaby into God’s Familia!

Today, at our glorious Easter Service, Jada humbly declared “Jesus is Lord” and was baptized! Jada was reached out to by our awesome sister Samara while they rode the bus about a month ago! Jada is a freshman at the Art Institute for Culinary Arts!

After her baptism, Jada looks to Heaven
    while praising God!

As we gear up for our Special Missions Contribution next week, God has moved in the hearts of the disciples as so many have sacrificed and worked hard! So far, we have already turned in over $67,000 as well as collected over $12,000 through our tagging efforts! Please pray for us, as we pray for you!

Lou Jack Martinez: We finally broke the month-long drought here in Honolulu as JACOB FURUTO was baptized last Thursday!!!

On Easter morning, Jacob joyfully celebrates
    his new life in Christ!

Additionally, God has blessed our last few tagging efforts with over $5,000 in only three outings!!! Finally, the Campus and Singles Ministries went on a combined retreat this past weekend at the beautiful Pu’u Kahea Conference Center on the Waianae Coast!

All had an amazing blast, not to mention an amazing Easter Sunday Service with the Married Ministry joining them on Sunday!!!

The Easter Egg Hunt is on!

Please keep praying for the harvest in the Islands!!!

Ron Harding: Greetings from the Washington DC! After successfully beginning the new pattern of three Regional Services with fulltime couples leading each region, God blessed the DC Church with 190 in attendance at our Easter Service – the largest Easter Service since DC was planted in 2009!

One of the highlights of the service were the restoration of Anthony Basdeo, who like Noah ran away from the Kingdom – all the way back to his homeland of Trinidad. He poured his heart out saying because he didn’t speak English well and it was hard to find work here in the US that he thought the only way they would survive was to go back to Trinidad. But he soon found out that life without the Kingdom is tougher than being in a familiar place and familiar people who speak your same language! It was inspiring to see Anthony run back to the God and His Kingdom, leading the way for his family to return as well.

Anthony discovers that with God “you
can run, but you cannot hide!”

Following this moving moment, “The DC Choir” blew the roof off the Hyatt singing Joyful, Joyful We Adore Thee.

Tracy enthusiastically directs the gifted DC Choir!

Then our sister Melika Johnson (a trained opera singer) performed La Via Dolorosa as our young fiery campus sister Shyloe Pollard did a beautiful dance routine, melting everyone’s hearts in preparation for communion. It is such an honor to lead a groups of talented and committed group of disciples! Happy Easter and to God be all the glory!

Evan Bartholomew: Greetings from San Diego – a city always in motion! This week has been an exciting week, as we were able to witness the baptism of Walker Mahdessian and then the sending out of two incredible disciples to Santa Barbara! Walker is the son of Vartan & Jill Mahdessian who were restored in January of this year! Walker was so “blown away” by the radical change of his parents, and also the commitment of the younger disciples in the church, that he quickly decided it was time to take the refreshing dip into the waters of baptism! He is now our only teen disciple, and therefore the beginning of our Teen Ministry!

Vartan, Jill and Walker are now a
    family in God’s Family!

Also exciting, is that after a powerful Easter Sunday Service where almost a hundred were in attendance, the Holy Spirit “blew” Gabriella Murillo and Chris Baty up to Santa Barbara! (John 3:8) As a memento, the San Diego Church presented each of them with an armillary globe. These nautical globes were invented way back, before even Jesus’ time. They were an attempt to map out the planet’s and star’s orbits around the earth. Later, when it was realized that the planets and stars actually revolved around the sun, these globes were changed and the center became symbolic of the sun instead of the earth. They are a powerful reminder to both Gabby and Chris that as long as the “Son” is in the center of their lives, they will never lose their way!

The armillary globes will always remind
Gabriella and Chris of their days in
    the great San Diego Church!

Mike Underhill: Words can’t express how grateful we all are here to have a “veteran” and “prodigal son of God’s household” join our fellowship in San Francisco! Rob, a brother in Christ, who just like myself fell away and starting bartending and riding motorcycles, was restored a few years ago in our former fellowship. I was so grateful to start building a friendship with this dear brother when he contacted me after he began listening to the sermons on our website! (Thanks to Tim Le and Aaron Viscichini for their website work!) Rob was searching for the “sold-out fellowship” that he was baptized into before falling away in the 90’s.

Over this past year, Rob and I simply became good friends and I did my best to help Rob in whatever way possible. Rob finally began seeing the “immovable lukewarmness” that persists in his former fellowship, and after finally seeing his own convictions affected and eroding, he placed membership with us in order to protect his relationship with God! Sadly, his former church immediately labeled him as a “false brother,” his roommates asked him to move out, and his girlfriend ended their relationship! But, God encouraged him today by giving him his first non-Christian friend out to church in many, many months! It is such a joy and I am filled with tears to be in the presence of a man who has persevered in this spiritual battle and remained faithful to the Word of God at all costs! We love you with the love of the Lord, Rob!

Rob pays the price to join the San Francisco
    Bay ICC Band of Brothers!

Coleen Untalan of Portland: Happy Easter from the City of Bridges! This weekend has been filled with so many great things happening as we had not only an incredible Easter Service, but also fantastic Women’s Days in both the English and Latin Ministries! We decided to imitate the City of Angels Church and have as our theme UNCONDITIONAL. Sonia Gonzalez Sr. was the guest speaker for the Women’s Day in the Latin Ministry entitled INCONDICIONAL. She did a great job speaking to the women as she is a “mother in the faith” to many of our Spanish-speaking sisters!

“Mama Sonia” and a dear sister Leonor!

In the English Ministry, we had a sort of mother-daughter theme as my mom Therese Untalan was our guest speaker! Many of the women wanted to meet my mom and it was evident to them “where I got a lot of who I am from” both physically and spiritually! I am so grateful that my mom is a disciple and that we can impact the world together!

Beautiful – inside and out – Coleen
    and her mom Therese!

It was incredible to see the women in both ministries work so hard for the Lord and with 50 disciples we were able to have 125 women out! But most inspiring were the baptisms of Jennifer who is 19 and in the PSU Campus Ministry and Marixa who is 16 and in the Teen Ministry. Jennifer challenged her mom about being a disciple so much that she was able to have her out to Women’s Day to witness her baptism alongside her dad and another friend!

Portland’s new twin Sisters – Jennifer and Marixa!

Jennifer really is a young fireball as she and another sister put Women’s Day invites on every bathroom stall of PSU and she gave her 20X Missions Contribution even before she became a disciple! Marixa’s mother is a disciple in the Latin Ministry so it was equally powerful hearing how their relationship had changed because of Jesus. Truly the Lord has moved but there is so much more work that must be done! Please continue to pray for us as we have so many people studying who must resurrect with Jesus!

Andrew Smellie of New York City: Greetings from the “City That Never Sleeps!” Today we celebrated our “Resurrection Sunday” as the children sang O Happy Day! and danced as they praised the Lord! Despite several disciples out of town, the Lord blessed us with 171 at service including my Dad (80 years old and looking like 40!), his fiance Marie and Patrique’s sister Nicola!

    “Grandpa Smellie” and Naomi!

It was encouraging to also welcome one of our newest additions, Wyatt, the baby of Wes & Debbie Hardin to his first service!

    Wes, Debbie and Baby Wyatt!

This week was also a joy as we hosted Chris Broom and his son Austin as they were in town to “scout out the land” for housing and schools as they prepare for their move with 25 other disciples on the NYC Supplemental Mission Team at the end of June! Chris preached powerfully for the Bible Talk Leaders last Sunday, and we were able to enjoy the excitement of a Yankees baseball game victory over our famous rivals and reigning World Series Champions, the Boston Red Sox!

Nick Bordieri wishes he could join Andrew,
Austin and Chris cheering, “Go Yankees!

Please pray to the Lord of Harvest to help us to “resurrect” this dying world! Happy Easter!

Jeremy Ciaramella of Phoenix: Greetings from the “Valley of the Son!” Today’s Easter Service was electric! We had one of our best contributions of the year of almost $4,500 and one of our best attendances of 176! Disciples also gave an additional $4,700 for early missions as well! Immediately afterwards, we shared in communion and two gifted sisters sang La Via Dolorosa in English (Sandy Lunde) and Spanish (Laura Barrett) so powerfully that many were moved to tears!

The highlight of the day was seeing Christine Melgar “baptized into Christ” and “raised to a new life!” (Romans 6:2-4) God had His timing in mind when she started studying the Bible over a year and-a-half ago! Today she shared openly about how she kept fighting God, fighting the sisters, and resisting because of her pride and religious background. She humbly shared that the biggest road-block for her pursuit of brokenness and trusting God was her past with her father – resulting in bitterness, mistrust and disdain toward men. Her sharing, confession and baptism were the perfect close for an amazing Easter Sunday!

The love of the Phoenix Sisters ultimately
    brought Christine to Christ!

    HEADLINE NEWS – INTERNATIONAL

NEWS FLASH – Joe Willis of Sydney: Greetings from Australia!! God has blessed us with an incredible two weeks here in Sydney! Just two weeks ago, a young man named Kavendu – who is a Sri Lankan Engineering Graduate brought up in Greece and educated in England – searched the internet for a church after landing in Sydney four days earlier. He arrived at our church service and after the message explained that while he had been going to church in England, he was not really a Christian as he came from a Buddhist background. Within 11 days, he told his parents he was converting to Christianity, had given up his long term girlfriend, and was baptized at our Midweek Service on Wednesday!

Coming from a Buddhist background, Kavendu is
so grateful for his new t-shirt which reminds
him that Saved = Christian = Disciple!

This inspired Maggie, our first Chinese conversion and a student at Macquarie University, who told her parents she was going to become a Christian and was baptized today at our Barbecue Easter Service at the beach!

Prayerfully, Maggie is the first of many Chinese
disciples that will be sent by the Holy Spirit to
evangelize the 1.3 billion people of China!

As well today was our best attendance yet with 38 people at church including friends from some of our former movement churches. Also this week Pete Wade landed his first architectural job, and Jade Rubenstein is now employed at her first job! And amongst the excitement of this week, Sean Venezuela – putting his full trust in the love and protection of God – cashed in his 21st birthday present from everyone in the church, put on his scuba gear, and fed the sharks at Sydney Aquarium!

Happy 21st Birthday Sean… “May the
odds be ever in your favor!”

Lastly, a BIG thank you to all those in LA for collecting and sending our “missionaries care package,” especially Cesar & Debbie! This was incredibly encouraging!

    The Sydney International Christian Church!

God is truly moving powerfully here in Sydney! Please keep us in your prayers!

NEWS FLASH – Eugen Sobolev: “If we claim to be without sin, we deceive ourselves and the truth is not in us. If we confess our sins, He is faithful and just and will forgive us our sins and purify us from all unrighteousness.” (1 John 1:8-9) Greetings from Moscow! I want to share with you the astounding story of Yuriy & Yulia who were restored in Moscow on Sunday, April 13th!

They were baptized in the middle of the nineties in Moscow, but sadly fell away in 2007. Then everything happened as it is described in the Book of Deuteronomy – they lost their love, close relationships, and finally were very close to divorce. At that moment, Yulia understood that she needed to repent, met with sisters, and declared her decision to her husband. Later he said that this decision moved him so much that he repented too! So now it’s a real “second honeymoon” after 24 years of marriage!

The dramatic restoration of Yuriy & Yulia!

Also, last Sunday we witnessed the restoration of Igor – a young single professional who was baptized about an year ago here in Moscow. Unfortunately, he fell away six months after his baptism and allowed sin to capture him again with drugs, alcohol, etc. “But thanks be to God, who always leads us as captives in Christ’s triumphal procession” that Igor’s heart changed! He totally repented and rejoined God’s church!

And last but not the least, God continues to gather disciples from the 15 nations of the “Russian Commonwealth” to Moscow! When Kip, Elena, Oleg & Aliona came here last November there were 20 disciples in Moscow and Kip took a decision to gather 40-50 disciples in Moscow by June 1, 2014!

Pray for Oleg Sirotkin – the Moscow
    Mission Team Leader!

Since then, Fred & Alya Muratov have moved from Moscow to lead the Kiev Church, but God has given us four restorations, two baptisms and nine move-ins (one from Novosibirsk and eight from Kiev)! At this moment we have 33 totally committed disciples here in Moscow, and we expect one more brother from Belarus this week and eight more in May! Last Sunday two more brothers from Ukraine – Ruslan and Viktor – moved to Moscow from Kiev and placed membership! We are closer and closer to our goal – at least 40 members by June 1st! Please keep us in your prayers!

Carlos Mejia: We are so proud of the church here in Santiago! In the past two weeks, the Lord has blessed us with three restorations and one baptism! Sonia, Alejandra Anuch (Women’s Ministry Leader) and Guilermo Galvez (Campus BT Leader) baptized their mother Sonia Galvez! Because of Sonia’s convictions to give up the religious world and become a true sold-out disciple, Sonia’s mother is now studying the Bible!

Sonia (green) rejoices in her salvation
    with her physical family!

Another miracle that we witnessed is a restoration that I need to tell you about. Marlene Viveros was restored/place membership today and her story is amazing! She was originally baptized here in the ICOC in 1993. She is the one that reached out to Alejandra Anuch, who is one of our Women’s Ministry Leaders! She also reached out to Carlos & Maria Elena Gallardo! This woman is a power house for evangelism!

The only problem has been that she has not had discipling and has not had a church to bring people to! It is so frustrating to her to want to share her faith and bring people but nobody in the old church had the heart to study the Bible with her friends. When she came out to church she exclaimed, “This is the church that I was baptized into… A church with a dream to evangelize the whole world!”

The Gallardos and Lucy welcome Marlene (orange)
into the fellowship of God’s SoldOut Movement!

When Marlene shared today it reminded me of my return to God through the new movement and all the dreams I had lost and all the time that had gone by without any discipling. I am so grateful to be a part of the new movement! So, in the past four weeks, we have seen three disciples join us from what’s left of the ICOC. We are looking forward for many more to come and roll up their sleeves and help us to evangelize the world!!

Lola Lof of Kinshasa: Greetings from the Democratic Republic of Congo! “Don’t be yoked with unbelievers. For what do righteousness and wickedness have in common? Or what fellowship can light have with darkness? What harmony is there between Christ and Belial?” (2 Corinthians 6:14-17) As the Bible teaches Christians must marry Christians, the church in Kinshasa celebrated the wedding of our dear brother and sister Willy & Gertrude Kafwenge!

Willy & Gertrude dance with all their might
    in celebrating their wedding day!

This wonderful event coincided with our Easter celebration so all the disciples and our guests were so delighted to take part in a very electric service! Also of note, the Holy Spirit moved the heart of a young man after studying the Bible and repenting from his sins, Henock decided to be baptized into the body of Christ!

    Lola baptizes Henock on Easter!

Continue to pray for all of your African brothers and sisters, as we pray daily for you!

Michael Williamson: God has blessed us in London! After weeks of grueling fundraising events including “Car Boot Sales,” Walk-a-thons, Lift-a-thons, and bucket shaking (tagging), the church raised £43,420 or $72,967 for our 15X Special Missions! It was so incredible seeing God’s hand helping the church over the past few weeks!

Two Sundays ago, a faithful hero to so many in London, Steve Fraser was sent out to join the mighty Toronto Mission Team in LA! We organized a huge party for Steve accompanied with sharing and his favorite food dish (popular in West Africa) “Jollof Rice!” Steve has been an incredible pillar to the church sacrificing both monetary and physical resources to support the church in its remnant days and after the mission team arrived! He will be missed!

Blaise, Michael Williamson and Michael Hart help
Steve to find the courage to be on the
    Toronto Mission Team!

We also baptized two incredible singles – Brenda and Clark! Clark’s infectious smile is much like his father in the faith Victor Komo. He also is challenging the brothers on personal fitness, as his daily workout includes 300 pushups and crunches!

Clark is a welcomed addition to the
    London Brothers!

Excitingly we just received approval from home office here in the UK to hire Krista Cameron as an intern! God is awesome!

Krista will soon be joining her awesome
    boyfriend Victor in London!

Raul Moreno: “In the last days, God says, ‘I will pour out my Spirit on all people. Your sons and daughters will prophesy, your young men will see visions, your old men will dream dreams.’” (Acts 2:17) Greetings from São Paulo! The Lord was “good” as He always is, as He allowed us to get a “taste of the Scripture” above! First, we witnessed the old “dream dreams” as Terezinha was baptized at 80 years old! Even at her age, she was radical in her commitment to Christ and broke up with her boyfriend to become a true disciple! She is dearly loved and has a great personality and has become a spiritual grandmother to many!

    Terezinha has become the grandmother
for the Sao Paulo Church Family!

Then we witnessed the young “see visions” as Ana was baptized as a 19 year old! She has a full ride scholarship studying Law School and she is the sister of our dearly loved brother Valdermar, who is doing a one year internship in London being graciously loved and sustained spiritually by the awesome London Church!

The Sao Paulo Disciples celebrate with Anna!

Through a global movement, God can convert our family members, even if they are in other countries! “Nothing is impossible for God!”

Debs Rajan of Chennai: “Like cold water to a weary soul is good news from a distant land.” (Proverbs 25:25) I bring you “good news from the distant land” of the Tamils! In the Chennai Church there is an expectation to know the countries and their capitals of all the distant lands! Ouagadougou, Nouakchott and Yamoussoukro are some of the capital cities which I have never heard of, but because this month is all about Africa and the Book of Acts, I came to know about it and now I care for the lost souls there!

On Friday we had a workshop with teachings on The Holy Spirit by Raja and How To Help Our Muslim Friends by Thomas, as well as skits on discipling and fellowship which were hilarious! It truly was a Good Friday! And on Saturday, we went to Bala Vihar, an orphanage that takes care of the mentally challenged kids. The games and songs brought joy to these children and tears of gratitude to us!

The Chennai MERCY Ambassadors bring the
love of Jesus to the Bala Vihar Orphanage!

On Sunday, the Easter Service ended with great rejoicing as Christopher became engaged to Amanda!

Christopher & Amanda will make a
    powerful married couple!

The risen Lord brings joy in our daily lives!

NEWS FLASH – John Malnegro: Only great news from the Metro Manila ICC!!! God has continued to move powerfully in the Metro Manila Church, as over the last four weeks we have witnessed miracle after miracle!!! Beginning the last Sunday of March, our dear sister Susan Vinuya (wife of Wisly Vinuya) was restored in the Lord!!! This was followed by the baptisms of Raygun and Romalyn last Sunday!!!

And today, God blessed us with not just another awesome restoration but five baptisms!!! During the last day of our incredible three day retreat where we had a total of 72 delegates, Nita made Jesus the Lord of her life as she was restored to her “first love!”

    The Metro Manila ICC Retreat!

And so excitingly, Mark (Kate Ong’s classmate), Cristy (Teng Carino’s wife), Michael (Nimrod & Vis Malnegro’s son), and Jash and Jorge (Anna’s and my two precious daughters) were all baptized at the waterfalls in Kiangan, Ifugao – home of Arnold & Masah Melicor!

John baptizes his nephew – Michael!

John baptizing his oldest daughter Jash!
Manila’s five baptisms: Michael, Jash, Jorge, Mark,
Cristy and Nita who is restored!

What an awesome way to celebrate an Easter Sunday!!! And to God be all the praises and glory!!!

Dearest Brothers and Sisters, Around the movement, prayer is needed for our upcoming May Missions Contributions! Most churches have a goal of 20X their weekly pledge! This indeed is challenging, but let’s be motivated that the “disciples before us” sacrificed even greater amounts so that we could hear the “good news of the Kingdom!” (Luke 4:43)

A few weeks ago, Michael Kirchner asked the question: Do you know since the send-off of the LA Mission Team from Portland, how many multiples “we” have given for missions? Through these almost seven years, the gallant 42 disciples who planted the City of Angels Church on May 6, 2007 have sacrificed: 15X in March 2007, 10X November 2007, 15X in April 2008, 15X in April 2009, 4X in November 2009, 15X in April 2010, 15X in April 2011, 4X in November 2011, 15X in April 2012, 5X in November 2012, 20X in June 2013, 3X in November 2013, and now 20X in May 2014 for a total of 156X our weekly pledges! And most of us gave above and beyond what was asked on several of these occasions!

Lord willing, the Toronto Mission Team will be sent
out by the Spirit from LA on May 25, 2014!

Elena & I continue to give cheerfully because we believe that even though there are a few disciples in other “restoration churches,” we believe that only a movement of “sold-out disciples” can multiply to evangelize the nations in this generation! Therefore, though it may sound brash to some, the only hope of this very lost world is God’s new SoldOut Discipling Movement! Let us humbly sacrifice for this year’s Missions Contribution so that through God’s power we can “proclaim His Salvation day after day, [declaring] His glory among the nations, [and] His marvelous deeds among all peoples!” (Psalm 96:2-3) Amen!
    Much love,
    Kip

Jessica, Jennifer, and Reynaldo – April 6, 2014

Richie McDonnell – April 6, 2014: Greetings from sunny Santa Barbara! The Lord has been moving powerfully here by adding five to our number these past few weeks – three through placed memberships and two through baptism! Jessica Pengra moved here from the awesome Las Vegas Church and has been an immediate help to our women’s ministry.

    jessica

Also, Jennifer Habib moved here from the LA Ventura Region to be an intern, and Reynaldo Velazquez has moved here from the mighty Chicago Church!

  • The Good News Email – 04-06-2014

    Dear All,
Greetings from LA! Today, all the SoldOut Movement Churches heard these fantastic announcements about missions: 1) Already this year, the Spirit working through the SoldOut Movement has planted congregations in Gainesville, Florida; Santa Barbara, California; and Sydney, Australia! Amazingly, this coming Sunday, our fourth church will celebrate their Inaugural Service – the Houston International Christian Church!

The Sydney Church jubilantly celebrates their
    first baptism – Teigan (right)!

    2) Lord willing, the Toronto Mission Team will be sent out from LA on May 25th and they will hold their Inaugural Service on June 29th! 3) Highlighting the 2014 Global Leadership Conference (GLC) on Sunday, August 10th, the Dallas-Ft. Worth (DFW), Texas and the Chennai, India Mission Teams will be sent out! Their respective Inaugural Services will be September 7th and September 28th! 4) And prayerfully to close this very fruitful year, the Spirit will send out the Moscow Mission Team on December 14th from Los Angeles and their Inaugural Service will be February 1, 2015!

Oleg & Aliona Sirotkin – the gracious leaders of the
    Moscow Mission Team!

Also in 2015, Lord willing, our God will send out from Santiago the Bogotá, Colombia Mission Team at the Central & South American Missions Conference in February! As well, the Manila Mission Team will be sent out by the Holy Spirit in May from Los Angeles! Then in 2016, we are beseeching God to send out the Johannesburg Mission Team which in turn will plant Nairobi, Kenya and Lagos, Nigeria in two years! Praise God that already the Abidjan, Ivory Coast and Kinshasa, Democratic Republic ICC congregations are multiplying disciples on this great continent! Pray for the evangelization of all Africa!

Luke & Brandyn Speckman will be co-leading
the Johannesburg Mission Team with the
Smellies! Then Lord willing, they will
    plant the Nairobi International
    Christian Church!

Equally as exciting on Sunday morning at the GLC, the SoldOut Movement’s World Sector Leaders will be introduced! Each couple will spearhead the evangelization of their appointed “sector of the globe” thus collectively evangelizing all the nations of the world in this generation! As Paul writes, “We… will confine our boasting to the field God has assigned to us… Our hope is that as your faith continues to grow, our area of activity among you will greatly expand!” (2 Corinthians 10:13-15) Different than denominational churches where a minister is only over “his church membership,” in the Scriptures and in the SoldOut Movement, Evangelists are not just responsible to God for their church membership but also to evangelizing all the lost people in “the field that God assigned” them!

Three World Sector Leader Couples will be given the charge to evangelize the United States to supply much of the funds needed to evangelize the rest of the globe. The other World Sectors will include: Central & South America, Europe, Africa, Russian Commonwealth (the former Soviet Union), India, Austral-Asia (China is included), and the Middle East. Included as World Sector Leaders are the two Movement Shepherding Couples and our Movement Administrator Couple.

Why World Sector Leaders? Three reasons: 1) Elena & I “are commanded by God” to “focus on a few” as we presently feel that we are discipling too many inside and outside of LA to maximize their effectiveness. (Exodus 18:17-24; Mark 3:13-14; Luke 6:12-13) 2) Of special note, the ICOC Remnant will perhaps “see more clearly” that the ICOC has abandoned a Central Leadership with a Central Leader since World Sector Leaders were “their” Central Leadership during their years of unprecedented and most rapid expansion to 171 nations. Prayerfully, this familiar “leadership designation” will draw the remnant in even greater numbers to “rejoin” the “church that they were baptized in!” 3) The World Sector Leaders can now begin to select “their 12,” so all of our church leaders will be discipled as well as having encouraging peer relationships. Pray for the Lord to bless all of these faith goals!

Pray for the selection of the World Sector
    Leaders of the SoldOut Movement!

On a much lighter note, this Saturday was the CAICC Basketball League’s fourth week of competition! After countless close games, the overall standings are as follows: Bulls (Southland Region) 4 – 0; Celtics (South, East and IE Regions) 2 – 2; Heat (Central and AV Regions) 2 – 2; Mavericks (West Region) 2 – 2; and the Lakers (AMS, North and Ventura Regions) and Knicks (OC Region) are both 1 – 3! Next Saturday is the final game of the season, and all the teams have a chance to secure one of the four playoff positions!

The dynamic duo of Tony Untalan – the CAICC
    Basketball League Commissioner – and
    Jason Bond – the League’s
    Statistician!

    Every game has featured “blood,
    sweat and tears!”

The CAICC League Leaders in scoring are: Amar Pandaranga (Knicks) 22.75 points/game, Erik Russell (Mavericks) 18 points/game, and Brandon Scorza (Mavericks) 17.5 points/game!

Isaiah blows by Amar – the League’s leading
scorer – for an easy layup!

In “3 Pointers Made” the leaders are: Amar Pandaranga and Erik Russell 2.5/game followed by Ivan Jackson (Bulls) with 2.25/game!

Iggy has been dominating on the defensive end,
but here he puts the ball back up for two!

And dominating on the boards in rebounds are: Levi Bartholomew (Heat) 13.25/game, Iggy Odighizuwa (Celtics) 7.75/game, and Cory Blackwell (Bulls) and Carl Buckner (Knicks) with 7.25/game!

Though the “Silver Fox” (aka Cory Blackwell) has
slowed down a step or two since his NBA days,
he is still an intimidating force for #41 –
    young Tyler Sears!

The Silver Fox’s cunning has locked up the number
one playoff seed for the Bulls!

Come out and support your team next Saturday for the battle for the playoffs! And “may the odds be ever in your favor!”

Last year’s champs the Lakers are having a tough
season, but their fans may be the most
    supportive in size and sound!

Amazingly, in the first 96 days of 2014, the Lord has continued to bless the City of Angels Church as He has added to our number 133 souls: 93 baptisms, 23 restorations, and 17 place memberships – several of whom have joined us from our former fellowship seeking revival!

Now more detailed reports from around Los Angeles…

Luke Speckman: Greetings from Ventura! “Remembering the words the Lord Jesus Himself said: ‘It is more blessed to give than to receive.”’ (Acts 20:35) Last week, we were honored to send out one of our unpaid interns and ICCM students, Jennifer Habib, to Santa Barbara! Jennifer was sent to us from Orange County in August 2013 and has been a tremendous inspiration in our ministry, helping numerous women become Christians, and a fantastic help to Brandyn & me personally with our family these last eight months!

The Speckmans send off Jen to strengthen
    the new Santa Barbara Planting!

As I reflected on those the Spirit has sent out from the Ventura Region in recent months, I realized that 24 disciples (six of them ICCM students!) had been sent out over the last nine months for the Santa Barbara Church Planting, support for the Dallas Remnant Group, and the Gainesville Planting leaving only 39 behind in Ventura! Truly the words of David ring true for us, “Who am I, and who are my people, that we should be able to give as generously as this?” (1 Chronicles 29:14)

    I have been enjoying The
Remnant Series that we have be doing on Sundays, with lessons focused on tackling issues that can plague our beloved “veteran” disciples as well as strengthening and edifying the entire congregation! So far, we have done lessons on Acedia, Repentance, Greed, Persecution and Worship with Authority/Submission and Family to go! Please be praying for us as we are kicking off a campaign this week to bring in a new harvest of souls!

Capil Marhatta: Greetings from the Sensational South! It has been a blast down here forcefully advancing the Kingdom of God! We are having more than weekly additions in 2014 and God has been continuing to send out missionaries from the South! Canadians, Craig & Elizabeth Wademan, were sent out to the North Region to prepare for the Toronto Mission Team! Craig & Elizabeth have been a pillar couple serving tirelessly for the past four years and left with tear-filled eyes saying their good-byes last Sunday!

The South is constantly saying “Good-bye” and also “Hello” as another brother from Kiev “Sasha” – who is a “MD doctor” – joined us! Sasha specializes in neurology and gave up his private practice of fourteen years last month to come and prepare for the Moscow Mission Team this December!

Oleg warmly welcomes Sasha from Kiev to LA as he
begins training for the Moscow Mission Team!

As a region, the Holy Spirit has us “clicking on all cylinders!” The Teen Ministry is cranking as they baptized a dynamic young man named Robert last Sunday!

The South Region Teen Ministry has gained
    momentum with Robert’s baptism!

Finally, the most moving display of God’s power was Yun Hee Choi, who is confined to a wheelchair with severe cerebral palsy. This awesome sister gave her testimony during communion through Desiree reading Yun Hee’s letter aloud! It brought everybody to tears! She challenged the church and visitors to be committed to “the meetings of the body” of which she never misses! God powerfully uses people like Yun Hee Choi and leaves us with NO EXCUSE why we should not be radical for God! To God be the glory! Amen!

    Our dear sister Yun Hee!

Even as a non-Christian in high school, Yun Hee
touched so many hearts that she was
    elected Homecoming Queen!

Now, as a disciple she is beloved by the entire
South Region for her infectious joy and
    unrelenting commitment!

Tyler Sears of the West Region: Greetings and “Howdy Y’all” from Dallas-Ft. Worth! Shay & I had the privilege of spending time with the saints down in Dallas, Texas this past week! We arrived on Wednesday at the airport with the “southern hospitality” of We Love You With The Love Of The Lord! Then, we spent that evening at their Midweek Service where we shared good news, dug deep into God’s Word, and had d-groups afterwards.

It was especially exciting to spend time with the new DFW Remnant Group Leaders – Job & Erin Sterling! They are such dedicated and sacrificial disciples as they moved from Washington DC to Santiago, Chile and recently moved back to Dallas, where Erin’s family lives. Not only are they talented disciples, but they’re also the proud parents of a beautiful boy – Nathaniel. Shay & I feel so honored and grateful to have them serve in this capacity. Already they’ve been such a joy and have gone after “refreshing the hearts of the saints” with their faith and zeal to “seek and save the lost!” I think it’s “no coincidence” that they are in Dallas with five other disciples who are also from the Washington DC Church! (Thank you, Hardings and DC Church!)

Fresh from the mission field, Job & Erin bring a
“sterling” call to commitment to the
    DFW Remnant Group!

As well, last week in the West Region, we had another DFW Mission Team Member, Miguel Limon, place membership with us. We want to send a special “thank-you” to Victor & Sonia Gonzalez for sending us such a great Timothy (“precious stone” in the Greek) from the East Region! So far, we have six of the DFW Mission Team in the West – Flelicya Parnell, Hector Mogollon, Hugo Melendez, Miguel Limon and Shay & me. Please keep praying for all of us as we leave in July for DFW!

The Spirit gathers the first six for the DFW Mission
    Team: Hugo, Flelicya, Shay, Tyler,
    Hector and Miguel!

    Iggy Odighizuwa:
“For it is God who works in you to will and to act in order to fulfill His good purpose.” (Philippians 2:13) Greetings of love from the Inland Empire! God has been good to us as this past week as He blessed us with an incredible addition to the UCR Campus Ministry! Courtney shared about how she continually tried to change and overcome her addictions but she just couldn’t do it on her own. After studying the Bible she realized that she lacked the Holy Spirit to help her overcome her sin and so she eagerly studied during finals week, and was baptized this Wednesday night!

Courtney and the IE Sisters issue their weekly
    challenge, “You will be next!”

Pray for us as we not only want to see God bring in the spiritual harvest, but as well the financial harvest! God has already given us nearly 70% of our Special Missions Contribution so we are praying to blow out our prayer goal for the Lord! Pray for us as we are praying for you!

Cesar Limon & Debbie Bosch lead the Palm
Springs Sector – one of the fastest growing
ministries in the City of Angels Church!

Chris Chloupek: “HOW YA DO’IN?” FROM THE AMS REGION! I am very encouraged these past two weeks with the AMS Region! Last week, our intern Princeton George preached God’s Word “with power, with the Holy Spirit and with deep conviction!” (1 Thessalonians 1:5) God’s plan is so powerful to raise up men and women to continue to build God’s Kingdom around the world. I am proud of Princeton as he continues to mature in the Lord!

Princeton stretches himself to get ready
for each one of his sermons!

This past Sunday was equally special! RD Baker who was recently restored to the Lord blew it out as well as he preached the Word! “Immediately, something like scales fell from Saul’s eyes, and he could see again… At once he began to preach in the synagogues that Jesus is the Son of God.” (Acts 9:18-20) It was so heart-warming to see RD preach with conviction and humility “after the scales fell from [his] eyes!”

RD (left) and one of his new best friends Jason
Bond – the Shepherd for the AMS Region!

Pray for us: As Special Missions approaches, the AMS is putting on a Fashion/Talent show on May 10th at the renowned Circus Disco! The well-known movie, Saturday Night Fever was filmed there! There’s no business like “soul” business!

Everyone is invited to the Temple Fashion
Show on May 10, 2014 at the famous
    Circus Disco!

Kyle Bartholomew: Greetings from the Central Region! This week was amazing as Carolina a CSULA student was baptized! Carolina has come all the way from Equatorial Guinea to learn English and get her bachelor’s degree. Equatorial Guinea is the only Spanish-speaking nation in Africa!

Ever since Carolina’s first Women’s Bible Talk, she has come to every “meeting of the body” and been engaged in daily Bible studies. At first, Carolina’s Catholic family warned her that getting baptized would cause problems in her family. Carolina stood firm despite the opposition, and told them she wanted to get baptized! To her amazement, her family changed their minds and supported her in her decision! Please pray for us as many are close to the waters of baptism!

Hailing from Equatorial Guinea, Carolina becomes
the seed of the gospel for a new nation in Africa!

    Krystal Legarda in Orange County:
“Do you think I came to bring peace on earth? No, I tell you, but division. From now on there will be five in one family divided against each other, three against two and two against three.” (Luke 12:51-52) Despite the current wave of persecution from the family members of those who have recently been baptized and who have been studying to enter God’s Kingdom, God’s peace was evident in the lives of so many precious brothers and sisters gratefully celebrating their “new-memberhood” at the Prestons at Saturday’s New Member Orientation (NMO)! One brother shared, “I want to lead a church someday overseas!” Two baptized OC disciples, Erin and Edimar, had the “wisdom” to bring their physical sisters to the NMO and BOTH WERE INSPIRED TO MAKE JESUS LORD AND WERE BAPTIZED TODAY!

Erin’s sister, Adriana, is a student at Whittier College, who began studying the Bible before Erin did! Sadly, Adriana decided to stop studying because she was not ready to give up everything. Weeks later, after realizing that the world was only going to “chew her up and spit her out” and seeing the peace in her sister Erin’s new life, Adriana sent me a text desperate to get together and continue studying the Bible! After hours of reviewing and multiple Bible studies, Adriana was finally ready to make Jesus Lord of her life and be baptized! Both “Fischer Sisters” shared about how grateful they were to have each other in the spiritual battle to love their family despite the negativity towards their convictions and to have gone on their first prayer walk together the night before Adriana’s baptism!

Adriana (in black) and Erin (second from the right)
become “double sisters” in the Lord!

Erica is the physical sister of Edimar, a sister from our Cal State Fullerton Campus Ministry. Excitingly, she is the first fruit of the new All-Women’s Bible Talk! Edimar shared in tears about how broken their relationship was growing up. She shared how before she became a disciple, her own hostility toward Erica even caused her to move out of her house, because she could not stand to even look at her sister’s face. Grateful that God would reconcile their relationship now that they were both following Jesus, Edimar shared sincerely how she cannot wait to see her sister every day! Also in tears, Erica expressed how much she’s always admired her big sister, Edimar, and how grateful she is that she now gets to follow her footsteps into the Kingdom of God!

Erica is ecstatic to join her sister Edimar
    in God’s Family!

The Single Women of the OC also saw the Word of God at first brings division and then brings peace! Christina, Anayeli, Lesa and Jessica were studying with a Kenyan named Liz, who was struggling with the changes she saw that God was calling her to in the Scriptures. After nearing the waters of baptism last Sunday but doing a “fly-by,” Liz texted Kerri-Sue Adams this past Saturday morning, simply saying, “I want to get baptized!” She had counted the cost and been open with her struggles throughout the week and today at her baptism she shared her love for God and His Kingdom!

Since Liz is from Kenya, she could well become an
intern just in time for the Nairobi Planting!

HEADLINE NEWS – USA & CANADA

On the Toronto Mission Team front, it was an incredible honor this week to welcome Jake & Megan Studer with their beautiful daughter Rylee from New York City as well as Craig & Elizabeth Wademan with their beautiful daughter Helena into LA’s North Region! God is gathering the Toronto Mission Team and we are more excited than ever about what God is going to do in Canada!

The zealous hearts of the Toronto Mission Team –
the Wademan, Studer, and Kernan Families!

NEWS FLASH – Anthony Eckels: Greetings from the Houston International Christian Church! This has been a victorious two weeks for the Lord! First of all, the awesome four member remnant group, Wayne & Lynn Ouellette, Susan Snelgrove, and Chantelle Anderson have placed membership and are giving their hearts to the mission team!

Secondly, God allowed the contract on our house in Orlando to fall through… but we knew God had a good reason! After the contract fell through, God blessed us with a contract for several thousand dollars more than the first one! As well, the Coyles, a family of seven who came on the mission team with us, finally moved into a home last Friday! Every disciple has secured employment and is working hard!

Last Sunday, we had a blowout service at Hermann Park with an attendance of 49! We completed our First Principles as I preached The New Testament Conversions Study, which inspired four of our friends to study immediately after service, including a minister! This Sunday, we saw God’s sense of humor, as He gave new meaning to Hebrews 11:1, “Now faith is confidence in what we hope for and assurance about what we do not see.” We used the name “Oliver” throughout our First Principles Studies as our “imaginary friend” with whom we are studying! Then, the next thing we know, Brittany and Heather meet a gentleman named “Oliver” who came to church and is studying the Bible with the brothers this week!

The charismatic leaders of the Houston ICC –
    Anthony & Elizabeth Eckels!

We have several who are on the brink of baptism. Please pray for us as we continue our campaign and prepare for our Inaugural Service on April 13th at Downtown Crowne Plaza Hotel, 1700 Smith Street, Houston, TX 77002. Please call if you or someone you know would like to attend! For more information: 407-745-9363!

Ron Harding of Washington DC: Greetings from the Capital of the United States! “Then the church throughout [DC, Maryland, and Virginia] enjoyed a time of peace. It was strengthened; and encouraged by the Holy Spirit, it grew in numbers, living in the fear of the Lord.” (Acts 9:31) We’ve come to understand that sending out the hardest working disciples to the mission field calls those who haven’t had this godly lifestyle to step up!

This has required that “they preach the good news in that city and [win] a large number of disciples… strengthening the disciples and encouraging them to remain true to the faith. ‘We must go through many hardships to enter the Kingdom of God.”’ (Acts 14:21-22) I am so proud of the disciples “who have never led” or “not led in a long time” and that have stepped up to fill the gaps created by sending out 1/3 of the church to plant mission teams and strengthen other churches. They are going through hardships… sometimes creating hardships through leadership mistakes! But, they are inspired, motivated and embracing the evangelization of this great city and being a part of a worldwide movement, sending money and people to get the job done!

The Howard University Campus Ministry is a great
    fountain of leadership for God’s
    modern day movement!

I believe God is honoring these hearts as He has continued to bless us with four more baptisms in the last two weeks: Sam in our Singles Ministry, Angelo and Bria at Howard University, and Dor was united in Christ with his wife Angela, who was baptized just four weeks ago!

Bria is one of four baptisms in the last two
weeks in the dynamic DC Church!

During his sharing Dor literally broke out in song, leading the congregation to sing This Little Light Of Mine! He has now been dubbed “DC’s Singing Baptism!” Ironically, the original “Singing Baptism of Portland” is James Hanes who is a vibrant disciple now in the DC Church!

Dor becomes the “DC Singing Baptism!”

Jeremiah Clark: Greetings from the Mighty Denver Church! “Like water spilled on the ground, which cannot be recovered, so we must die. But God does not take away life; instead, He devises ways so that a banished person may not remain estranged from Him.” (2 Samuel 14:14) Last week, we packed the house with 86 that were able to witness the tearful restoration of Joaquin Archuleta! Joaquin is the son of Joe & Jolyn Ruybal who placed membership just four months ago! Joaquin was baptized many years ago as a teen and through a series of events that damaged his faith and heart, he sadly walked away from the Lord and His church. However, God never gave up on him and “devised a way” through the Denver ICC to once again draw him back into His family!

Joaquin (center) is surrounded by his parents who
prayed for him day and night to return to the Lord!

Also, I am pleased to announce that Brittany Nelson & Cisco Ibarra are the very first dating couple in the Denver International Christian Church! Even though Cisco & Brittany had dated in the world and even had a child together, they decided to break up, study the Bible, and rebuild their relationship on the foundation of Christ and the Scriptures!

Today was equally amazing as we met in House Churches for services, and in the South Region we were able to witness the powerful campus baptism of Haley! To God be all the glory!

Haley opens her eyes to see the
    promised Kingdom of God!

Coltin Rohn: “‘Come follow me,’ Jesus said, ‘and I will make you fishers of men.’” (Mark 1:16) After the past few months of studying the Bible, Quincy finally turned himself in and was baptized this past Wednesday night! Quincy is the roommate of Danny (our awesome brother who was converted on February 2nd) and is also in his final semester at Fisher College! However, in their last semester both Quincy and Danny are being “Fishers of Men” and are determined to change their campus before they leave this school!

Quincy (center) and Danny (second from the left)
will be “fishers of men” at Fisher College!

Amy Ciaramella of Phoenix: Greetings from the Valley of the “Son!” This weekend we laughed, cried and were deeply convicted as we had the wonderful Sarah & Jason Dimitry from Las Vegas, our “sister desert church family!” Sarah preached a stirring Women’s Day lesson entitled Extreme Makeover: Mind, Body & Soul Edition where 111 women were in attendance, averaging two friends for each disciple! A few sisters commented, “This was the best Women’s Day I’ve ever attended!” I agree as it built a great spirit of unity despite Satan’s attacks!

Sarah preaching at the record setting
    Phoenix Women’s Day!

Jason reminded us of how radical we need to be so we can proclaim freedom for all nations as we step out of the shallow waters (of comfort and “feeling in control”), to go into deep waters to fish for souls. God blessed us with 180 in attendance – our greatest Sunday attendance so far this year! We later commenced with our Annual Chili Cook-off with the accompaniment of our own bluesy Cactus Kings Band (Jeremy, Scott Campbell and Dan Barrett) playing old school rock! Our very own Campus Intern/ICCM Bachelor’s candidate Janelle Rushen walked away with the spoon trophy with her specialty white chili!

Dear “desert city” partners in the gospel – Jeremy
& Amy Ciaramella of Phoenix and Jason
& Sarah Dimitry of Las Vegas!

Wow! We are now well fed physically and spiritually to do the good work of God and see many won over for Christ! Please keep us in your prayers as there are now 35 studies with a few close to baptism! To our God be all the glory!

    Evan Bartholomew of San Diego:
“When the Lord restores His people, let Jacob rejoice and Israel be glad!” (Psalm 14:7) The Mission Bay Church was very glad today as we were able to see two incredible brothers come back to the Lord through restoration!

The first, Lambert Hawk, had been a faithful disciple for many years in our former fellowship. However, because of the doctrinal drift that occurred in 2002-2003, he became frustrated at the lack of discipling and commitment and thus lost his faith deciding to walk away from God and the church. Since Lambert has a speaking impediment, he read an apology letter that made so many of us cry. Lambert is so fired up to have found “the church he had been baptized into!”

Lambert, through the tireless efforts of the SD
Brothers, returns to his “first love!”

The second restoration is a very dear brother to so many disciples in the new movement – Zak Najor! Zak was converted in San Diego all the way back in 1998! Through time, he found himself drifting away from God and felt called to move to Portland, Oregon, where a revival of sorts had begun… Of course, this was the conception of God’s new movement! Zak later moved from Portland to Los Angeles to help plant the church in LA, and then later to New York City to plant the church there!

Zak shared how over time he let feelings and attitudes build up in his heart, and eventually Satan led him to a place of weakness and bitterness. Eventually, this unresolved bitterness he held on to made him feel that it was necessary to run away. Zak humbly apologized to the church for leaving and shared how excited he is to be back! I am so proud of Zak for his courage to deal with what seemed to him at the time to be monumental stumbling blocks. Truly, restoration brings rejoicing and gladness!

Zak’s courageous return has inspired disciples
    throughout the SoldOut Movement!

Matt Sullivan of Orlando: The last few weeks have been so encouraging as the Lord has given us three new brothers “added to our number!” Through persecution, a reduction of leadership, financial difficulties and birthing two churches in two months’ time (Gainesville and Houston), God has pruned us to make us “even more fruitful!” (John 15:2) Two and a half weeks ago, we saw Elvin from Sri Lanka, a health sciences major at UCF, baptized!

    Elvin’s baptism has encouraged the
    entire UCF Campus Ministry!

Then Donald Rendel was met by one of the sisters in the AMS Ministry. Although she has been struggling, she shared her faith and God saw her heart and heard her prayer. Donald is a talented young man with a young family and now they are striving to do it God’s way, regardless of the hypocrisy in the world around them! Donald was baptized last Sunday!

Donald is surrounded by the AMS Brothers
that led him to the Lord!

After this, God led Aaron a UCF student to radical repentance, becoming our first baptism in the “Reflection Pool” at the center of the awesome UCF Campus!

Maria Franklin: “You will be enriched in every way so that you can be generous on every occasion, and through us your generosity will result in thanksgiving to God.” (2 Corinthians 9:11) Good news from the spiritually rich disciples in Chicago! We are ecstatic that for this year’s IGNITE Program, as three of our gallant teens have been chosen from Chicago! Congratulations to Danielle, King and Jose who will be attending this life changing event in Orlando this summer!

Congratulations to the three incredible Chicago
Teens that have been invited to the IGNITE
Program – Jose, King and Danielle!

Excitingly, last week we prayed and sent off two missionaries! First, Joel was sent to be a part of the Supplemental Mission Team going to New York City! Then Ray was sent off to join the young dynamic planting of Santa Barbara! We are excited to send some of our best and look forward to reading about how God will use these incredible brothers in future Good News Emails!

With their Chicago Coffee Cups full of Kingdom
memories, the Spirit sends Joel to NYC
    and Ray to Santa Barbara!

With that same great heart of sacrifice, the generous and faithful disciples here have already turned in just under $50,000 for our Special Missions Contribution! We have worked hard to raise money in various ways including tagging from which we have already raised over $8,000!

On another special note, our brother Alex has been in China for the past few months and has been “Skyping” into church services every Sunday and also for continued discipling. With great faith and zeal, he has started up a Bible Talk there! He had graduated in Aeronautical Engineering and will be returning to Chicago in a few months to begin his Post Doctorate! Keep us in your prayers as we have many close to the saving waters of baptism!

    Andrew Smellie:
“Those who cling to worthless idols forfeit the grace that could be theirs. But I, with a song of thanksgiving, will sacrifice to you. What I have vowed I will make good. Salvation comes from the Lord.” (Jonah 2:8-9) Greetings from the Spiritual Battlefield of New York City!

In the last two weeks, the Lord has added four incredible souls who have battled the “worthless idols” of the world and overcome! Due to the power of God’s Word and the love of the Kingdom, our dearly loved Victor Vilanova was restored and Mario Mendija, a junior Environmental Engineering major at City College of New York was baptized last week!

Vic’s (second from the right) restoration was a
jubilant celebration for the angels, for the
NYC Church and for his beloved wife, Sue!

Mario (second from the right) is embraced
    into God’s Familia!

Today Bill Hagenbaugh, a retired Vietnam Vet living in Wilkes-Barre, Pennsylvania, was baptized, and Cristell was baptized into Christ! Through their devotion to the Word of God, an uncompromising commitment to His will, and much prayer and fasting, these four souls rejoiced with thanksgiving as they proclaimed the vow, “Jesus is Lord!”

Each one of these situations has an incredible story, yet I was personally encouraged by the faith and sacrifice of Bill, the Vietnam Veteran, who was originally connected to us by his relationship on Facebook with Dave Kelly in Honolulu, Hawaii! Despite challenges of health in his personal and family life, he has driven the 2.5 hours from Wilkes-Barre, Pennsylvania to come to midweek and church and is eager to be part of the dynamic remnant group that is growing in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania!

Bill’s fortitude has been tested by the 2.5 hour
drive from Philly to NYC… and he
    is proved faithful!

Last Sunday was also bittersweet as the NYC Church sent off one of our dearly loved and “right arm couples” of the church, former Queens Ministry Leaders Jake & Megan Studer! We are excited for the plans the Lord has for them as the Studers have now joined the Kernans in LA and are preparing to help support the Toronto Mission Team! It was especially inspiring to surprise Jake as two of the CyberEvangelists of the movement – Ron Harding and Rob Onekea – came to NYC to appoint Jake the newest CyberEvangelist in the Kingdom! And to God be the glory!

    Three CyberEvangelists congratulate Jake (second
from the right) and welcome him into the
    leadership for the evangelization of
    the “invisible continent!”

Joel Parlour of Syracuse: God is always good to us in Central New York State! We are making serious headway on collecting money for our May 25th Missions Contribution, our attendance is averaging nearly 100 every Sunday, and the church continues to give sacrificially well above our pledge! On top of that, we are having a blast!

Two Saturdays ago we hosted our First Annual Men’s “Munch” Madness! The brothers got together for wings and a chili cook-off and to watch the March Madness Basketball Tournament! We had so many visitors! I was especially encouraged by our dear brother Charles Anderson. Though he is physically the oldest brother in the church and has been extremely exhausted lately due to recently suffering serious illness, Charles came out to The Madness with six of his friends! Certainly a call higher for all of us as his example takes away many of our excuses!

Then last Sunday, we witnessed a miracle as Latecha was baptized into Christ! Latecha is a graduate student at Syracuse University. She first visited the church during a midweek service about seven months ago. At midweek she stood up during the good news sharing and announced the need for her to change her life. After wrestling with God for all that time God brought hope to Latecha’s life by our dear sister Hope reaching out to her again on campus. By this time she was truly ready to change! God’s timing is perfect!

God’s patience expressed through the love of the
Syracuse Sisters wins Latecha to the Lord!

This Sunday we saw another prayer answered! At the beginning of the year we prayed for God to open a door to start a Bible Talk at Onondaga Community College (OCC). Then God brought an OCC student Tyler into His Kingdom! But while Tyler was studying the Bible, we gently challenged him to start sharing his faith. So immediately Tyler boldly reached out and the first guy he met was Josh!

He invited Josh to a Dating Workshop we had that Friday to which he came. Josh has studied the Bible earnestly ever since. Today Josh was baptized as a true disciple of Jesus Christ! Last Wednesday we officially launched our new OCC Bible Talk!

    Syracuse’s Dating Devo inspires
    Josh to get baptized!

So in the last five weeks we have seen six added to our number – five baptisms and a restoration! To God be the glory!

Ricky Challinor of Portland: Good news from the Northwest!!! These past few weeks have been great! Of note last Sunday in Portland, we were privileged to see Martha Rubio restored!!!

This weekend the Eugene and Portland Churches paired up as we had a Portland/Eugene Campus/Teen Devotional down in Eugene! Electric does not begin to describe the atmosphere! We started out with a cranking lesson from Jacob Beas entitled, Noah! Though the movie was a flop, Jacob brought glory to God looking at the true story of the flood! We then played a giant game of night tag and then enjoyed pizza back at the Beas’s place! The highlight was at about 11:30pm when all 40+ Campus/Teens started singing like angels to God!

However, the greatest joy for me was our guest preacher and his wife at the Eugene Service, Gabe & Stephanie Reed! To say he blew it out would be an understatement! Excitingly this summer, Jacob & Courtney Beas will be moving down to San Francisco to be in the fight with the Dimitrys and furthering their training. To take their place in leading Eugene will be Gabe & Stephanie Reed! I’m very excited to see what God will do this spring and summer. Pray for the Northwest!!!

The Beas and the Challinors welcome the Reeds
    (center) to the Great Northwest!

    Gabe feels
right at home as he is a former University
    of Oregon Duck!

    Mike Underhill:
“We do not make requests of you because we are righteous, but because of your great mercy. O Lord, listen! O Lord, forgive! O Lord, hear and act!” (Daniel 9:18-19) Warm greetings from San Francisco!

Since leading the mission team to San Francisco, I’ve seen the many mistakes I’ve made and how many ways I personally have failed in building the church here. But in light of that, “because of [the Lord’s] great mercy,” God has allowed us to have two men baptized into His Kingdom! Aaron Garret, a man with an amazing love for God and who’s also a great basketball player, was baptized! He overcame his fear of water by practicing all week being immersed in different pools!

Aaron perfects his baptism water entry because
    this time it’s for real!

Also Ben Zamora, a teen who was adopted at the age of five by the Zamora family (our Shepherding Couple-in-Training here in SF), was baptized! He has radically changed these past two weeks and become a true man of God! The Lord has been so merciful to bless the church here even because of HIS great love and mercy! I’m forever grateful!

Half the church goes out to baptize Ben!

One of the Kingdom dreams of the Zimoras comes
true as they were able to baptize
    their adopted son Ben!

Richie McDonnell: Greetings from sunny Santa Barbara! The Lord has been moving powerfully here by adding five to our number these past few weeks – three through placed memberships and two through baptism! Jessica Pengra moved here from the awesome Las Vegas Church and has been an immediate help to our women’s ministry. Also, Jennifer Habib moved here from the LA Ventura Region to be an intern, and Reynaldo Velazquez has moved here from the mighty Chicago Church!

As for the baptisms, Alex, a student at Santa Barbara City College (SBCC), first came to church and was immediately impacted by the love of the disciples! Since that first service, he came to every event, including helping a non-Christian friend move! He took on the challenge to make Jesus his Lord, repented and was baptized just shortly after being met! “Un-coincidentally” he also possesses dual citizenship to both the US and Sweden, and speaks Swedish fluently! (I’m sure Argo will be calling him soon!)

Alex now has three citizenships – USA, Sweden
    and the Kingdom of God!

Second, Andre was baptized last week! He is also a student at SBCC, which is rated the number one community college in America! Throughout studying the Bible, he has been a man of faithful decisions, with his most recent decision being to stay here in Santa Barbara for Spring Break instead of going home where sin was waiting to ensnare him. And after repenting in some final areas, he was baptized last Sunday!

Andre sacrifices Spring Break to receive
an even greater break from the Lord!

Mike Patterson of Gainesville: A couple weeks ago, we had our First All Night Prayer Devotional and we are witnessing the fruit! Already, almost half of our 10X Special Missions Contribution has been turned in! Also, God allowed us to see three more “baptism miracles” this past week!

At the University of Florida (UF) Campus, a young man named Joseph (who is called “Music”) can be found street preaching as hundreds of students walk by. Our brother Marcel shared his faith with him and challenged him to meet for a Bible study. Amazingly, Joseph had Marcel’s phone number in his phone because our sister June (who is affectionately known in the Florida Churches as “June the Baptist”) had already invited him to church! God certainly determines the times and places!

Marcel confronted Joseph with the truth that you have to be baptized as a disciple to be saved. Joseph immediately repented! Then Joseph shared with his (now) former girlfriend Courtney! Almost immediately following, Joseph found persecution on the internet of some old news shows persecuting the church. These shook him up and even Courtney’s sister tried to intervene in the middle of a Bible study my wife was doing with Courtney! But Joseph remembered The Persecution Study and came back to the Scriptures! On Tuesday night both Joseph and Courtney were baptized into Christ! Joseph now street preaches as a disciple!

    Joseph and Courtney overcome
    persecution to enter
    the Kingdom!

Also, another amazing young man at UF who is part of the ROTC Air Force Program was baptized after service today named Aubrey!

Aubrey will now become a soldier
    in the Lord’s Army!

Afterward, Joe & Stacey Mack presented an amazing Financial Workshop to help us learn to budget our money in a way that honors the Lord!

Joe & Stacey’s presentation spurs on the Gainesville
disciples to honor God in their sacrifices!

So for the first 14 weeks of 2014, God’s new church planting in Gainesville has seen 16 additions! God is moving! Keep us in your prayers!

    HEADLINE NEWS – INTERNATIONAL

NEWS FLASH – Joe Willis of Sydney: We bring you great news from Down Under! God has opened the floodgates of the SoldOut Movement here in Sydney with two incredible baptisms!

The first Australian baptism was an incredible young lady named Teigan! Teigan is a student at Macquarie University. She – like many Australians – had never been to church in her life or even thought about looking into the Bible.

Teigan (second from the left) celebrating with the
    North Sydney Macquarie University Ministry:
    Rahnesha White, Jason Woody, Sean
    and Erick Valenzuela!

She came to our Inaugural Service and was teaching all our American disciples how to play Rugby afterwards!

Teigan at the Inaugural Service Picnic!

She became such an amazing part of the church since she started coming and it has been truly faith building to see her come from no faith to making Jesus Lord! She was baptized at one of Sydney’s beautiful beaches last Sunday night with all her sisters present! It truly was an amazing night and such a victory for the church here to see a real “Aussie” baptized after much prayer from us here and many of the disciples in LA!

    The Sydney International Christian Church!

Then on Wednesday, we saw Helmi “Mohamed” Nasir became our brother! Originally from Malaysia and converting from Islam, he represents our vision to set up churches in every country in Asia! His conversion brings to reality many desperate prayers over the last 10 years when I came to Australia to personally help someone become a Christian! Romans 5:3-4 teaches, “Not only so, but we also rejoice in our sufferings, because we know that suffering produces perseverance; perseverance, character; and character, hope.” Indeed, never has this verse seemed more real to me!

    Sydney’s second baptism – Helmi “Mohamed” –
    becomes a disciple of Jesus!

We are so grateful for all your prayers and financial support! Please continue to pray for us as we “fight the good fight” here in Australia!

NEWS FLASH – Vic Gonzalez Jr.: Greetings from the plentiful harvest field of Mexico City! These last few weeks have been super busy but that’s life in the Kingdom of God! First off, our new band “Rise Band” had the privilege of being on TV!

The “Rise Band” in the TV studio!

We also were able to witness the baptism of an incredible UNAM student named Eduardo! A few weeks ago I gave a challenge to “become slaves to the lost to win the lost.” Ezequiel, my brother, did just that helping Eduardo with his job till the wee hours of the morning just to serve him and show him true love! As a result Ezequiel studied and baptized Eduardo into the family of God!

Last week was amazing as my family of four flew to LA to witness God’s power once again in action through the union of David Green & Sonia – my sister! I was so honored to do the officiating! And my beautiful wife was the maid of honor! She also made the amazing cake!

Congratulations to David & Sonia Green!

In my absence, I had my brother Ezequiel preach, and all present said he did a phenomenal job! I am so excited to see my brother growing in leaps and bounds. This week was just a taste of what God has in store for us here in Mexico City. The Good Lord blessed us with seven baptisms giving us daily additions! “And the Lord added to their number daily those who were being saved.” (Acts 2:47) Mariana, Andrea, Fernando, Yailin, Salvador, Aime and Dany all made their good confessions!

The seven daily baptisms of the dynamic
    Mexico City Church!

Andrea is our second UNAM student and the hope along with Eduardo for the 388,000 college students at UNAM! Fernando is a professional “DJ.” Yailin is a teen and the daughter of our dear friends Javier & Pilli who are also studying the Bible and mentioned they’ll “soon be in that baptistery!” Amen!

Dany is the Events Coordinator at the Christian Bookstore where we meet! It was amazing to study with her parents Salvador & Aime! Today, after Aurora & I baptized them, they were able to baptize their daughter Dany!

So in the first 14 weeks of 2014, the Lord has graciously given us 21 additions: 17 baptisms, 2 restorations and 2 place memberships! Much love and a big hug from Mexico City!

NEWS FLASH – Raul Moreno: “I have told you this so that my joy may be in you and that your joy may be complete.” (Joao 15:11) Greetings from São Paulo! The church was full of joy these past two weeks as we have seen four come to Christ through the waters of baptism! First, Vicky was baptized! She is a 16 year old “Gentile teen” who has been coming to church for about six months and she was converted through the efforts of her neighbors, Gabriel & Edileine, who are awesome married disciples in the church!

Vicky (center) is overwhelmed with joy with her
    new found salvation!

Then, Bruno was baptized! He is an 18 year old single and his uncle and his brother are disciples!

Bruno arises to a new life!

Also, excitingly, Augusto was also baptized! He is the father of Vini who happens to be an Engineering student at USP University! At first, he persecuted Vini, but after seeing the church and the love of the disciples, he could not resist being united with Jesus!

    Vini baptizes his father Augusto!

Finally, Raul was baptized! He is also an Engineering student at USP and is a freshman! He was super eager to know God, and because of that, he was converted in two short weeks!

Caio baptizes his new best friend Raul!

Keep praying for us as we are praying for you and we
love you with the love of the Lord!

    Eugen Sobolev:
“And many nations shall come, and say, ‘Come, and let us go up to the mountain of the Lord, and to the house of the God of Jacob; and He will teach us of His ways, and we will walk in His paths: for the law shall go forth from Zion, and the Word of the Lord from Jerusalem.’” (Micah 4:2) Privyet from the Moscow International Christian Church! In November 2013 during the McKeans’ and Sirotkins’ visit, a plan was set before God to grow the Moscow Remnant Group to 40-50 disciples by June 2014. In February, we numbered just 20 disciples. Since that time, eight disciples have moved from various parts of Russia and the Ukraine to Moscow. These are the names of these sold-out disciples: Aliona Solovieva, Max Tkachuk, Andrey Priadko, Anton Sherbina, Elena Roomynska, Max Mituhliaev, my wife Julia Soboleva & me! So we now number 28! Lord willing, five more will move here in April and at least five more in May!

Anton, Lena and Andrey arrive in
    Moscow from Kiev!

This does not even count the daring disciples from the Ukraine and Russia who have moved to LA to train with Oleg & Aliona in the South Region! They are: Dima Serafonov, Dr. Sergey & Olena Pometun, and Dr. Alexander “Sasha” Schlophauer! Amazingly all of these disciples have paid for their own tickets and their living situations from their own savings! (Of course, Kirill & Lesia Karasov – now living in Moscow – as well as Julia & me have spent considerable and infinitely helpful time in LA!)

Pray for God to continue to gather His remnant from the 11 time zones of the “Russian speaking nations” for the arrival of the Sirotkins and the Moscow Mission Team in December 2014!

The new Moscow Remnant Group Leaders –
    Jenya & Julia Sobolev!

Michael Williamson of London: What a great service we had last week as we were able to see Sue baptized into Christ! Sue first came to church about six weeks ago to “check us out” and to try and convince her son Sean to leave the church! However Sean was baptized on January 25th after realizing his life was going now where without putting God first. He’s now one of the fiery new campus brothers nicknamed “SEAN THE BAPTIST” for his passion and zeal for the lost!

Sean realizes the dream for most disciples
to baptize one’s mom into Christ!

For the past two weeks, every disciple is passionately going after their 15X Missions Contribution: several disciples selling personal items at “Car Boot Sales” (flea markets); the Campus is cranking our “Bucket Brigade” (led by Daniel Adjai); Michael Hart is pushing his “Lift-a-thon” (Weightlifting Challenge); Maria Hart is leading a “Walk-a-thon;” AND the Singles inspirationally completed a 10K (6.2 miles) Run for Missions this weekend!

Christina and MJ enjoy running the race
    for the ultimate victor’s crown!

Big congrats to our Deacon of Church Governance (Jacques Groenewald) for getting the church’s charity status rated “A” which is given only to a select number of organizations! We have one more week to go before reaching our goal of 38,201 Pounds ($63,488)! Keep us in your prayers!

Tamru Belihu of Addis Ababa: Greetings from Ethiopia! We were again blessed by our Lord with two baptisms! Both men had been studying for about two months. Please pray for them as well as our congregation. We are looking for a house to rent as we were asked at our present location for more than we can afford. Our prayers are with you!

Carlos Mejia: Greetings from Santiago! We were very excited to have our Day Marrieds Retreat in the park this past Saturday! This “mini-retreat” consisted of prayer time with our spouses, as well as awesome classes that fed and edified our souls and our marriages! We ended the day with an abundance of our awesome Chilean “asado!”

At the Day Marrieds Retreat, all were fed
    spiritually, emotionally and physically!

Though the retreat was incredibly exciting, this weekend has been one of mixed emotions. We are so sad to see our dear Shepherding Couple, Abelardo & Elida Flores, be sent by the Spirit to Mexico City! Abelardo & Elida came to DC when Lucy & I were leading the church there, and they were miraculously converted during their stay! Giving up everything in Mexico, they stayed in DC! Later, they served the church in Orange County, and finally were appointed a Shepherding Couple here in Santiago! Though they are approaching their 70’s, they have tirelessly served the church here! There is not a soul among us that has not been served a meal at “Tio’s and Tia’s” (Uncle’s and Aunt’s) home!

Abelardo & Elida are Lucy’s physical aunt and
uncle, but they’ve come to mean so much
more to the Mejia Familia and the
    Santiago Church!

On more than one occasion, they have traveled up to five hours to visit sick or weak disciples with some authentic Mexican food in hand! They will be truly missed here in Santiago as the church has adopted them as spiritual parents! Although we feel the loss, we happily send them to the amazing church in Mexico City, where they will be with the brothers and sisters! In God’s Modern Day Movement, we understand that they are not leaving, but simply going to another room in God’s house!

NEWS FLASH – Debs Rajan of Chennai: Greetings! Indian culture is very similar to the Old Testament culture. The world has gone ahead but people in India still hold on to their traditions. Women are still given in marriage at a very young age.

For instance, Kumari was forced into marriage at the age of 13. When she refused to marry her husband who was 20 years older, she was beaten and locked up in a room till she agreed. As she narrated her painful life, I was reminded of Tamar in the Bible. Kumari got a chance to know about God through her son Bhaskar, a campus disciple, who constantly encouraged her to come to church. When she finally came to church, the fellowship scared her at first as she was not used to people giving her hugs. Now that she has understood about God’s love, she never stops smiling and giving hugs!

Bhaskar baptizes his beloved mom into the
    protection of the Lord’s angels!

Annupama whose husband was baptized just two weeks ago, also made Jesus the Lord of her life!

Suraj & Annupama are now joyfully
    united in Christ!

Lastly, Ujen, a young dynamic campus student who comes from a Buddhist background, was also baptized!

Ujen, a student at Stella Maris, is embraced by the
Chennai Sisters who helped to make her
    a sold-out disciple of Christ!

One thing that I saw common in all three of these women, was the pain they went through growing up and God has faithfully delivered them. “He will wipe every tear from their eyes. There will be no more death or mourning or crying or pain, for the old order of things has passed away.” (Revelation 21:4) This is true in Heaven and in God’s Kingdom on earth!

Dearest Brothers and Sisters: The International College of Christian Ministries continues to flourish! In the past month, we have added two Associate Professors – Tim Kernan and Kyle Bartholomew!

Kyle and Elena at the famed Bear in the heart of the
UCLA Campus where the ICCM Classes are held!

Since our BA Degree Class now numbers 75, we have also selected two of our best students to become “TA’s” (Teaching Assistants) – Cesar Limon and Rebecca Rico! Cesar is in charge of building the Study Guides and Rebecca oversees the study groups and tutoring.

Rebecca’s passion for the Word and excellence
were key qualities in selecting her to be
    the TA overseeing study groups
    and tutoring!

Presently, we are studying the Book of Luke in our BA Degree Program. Well known is Luke’s “Journey Section:” Luke 9:51 – 19:44. This week Elena “broke new ground” and identified what she is calling the “Women’s Elevation Section” which covers Luke 7:11 – Luke 8:56. Solidifying this incredible find is the concept of “balance.” Luke uses this literary device to emphasize that Jesus’ message was to go to the whole world.

So in the early chapters of Luke “balance” is employed: man + woman = the whole world! (Luke 2:25-37) Jew + Gentile = the whole world! (Luke 4:18-27) In the “Women’s Elevation Section” – unique in the entire Bible for its numerous detailed accounts of women – are five detailed accounts: the widow of Nain (Luke 7:11-17); Mary of Bethany who washes Jesus’ feet with her hair (Luke 7:36-50); the three women leaders of Jesus’ young movement (Luke 8:1-3); the true family… mothers, brothers, etc. (Luke 8:19-21); the woman with an issue of blood for 12 years and Jairus’ 12 year old daughter (Luke 8:40-56).

Elena teaching the “Women’s Elevation Section”
of Luke to the ICCM Sisters!

The “bookend balance” is exceptionally clear: in Luke 7:11-17 a powerless woman’s “only son is raised from the dead.” In Luke 8:40-56, a powerful man’s “only daughter is raised from the dead.” The balances are: the powerless + the powerful = the whole world; man + woman = the whole world; only son raised from the dead + only daughter raised from the dead = the whole world! The messages are clear: anyone can change and Jesus’ good news is for the whole world!

To bring “balance” to Elena’s & my life, we believe that God is sending us to Chennai, India to plant the church alongside our dear friends Raja & Debs Rajan! Balance: the rich of LA and the poor of Chennai! Rich + Poor = the whole world!

The McKeans believe that the Spirit is calling them
to preach the Word in India this Fall!

Pray for every disciple to strike “balance” in their lives – for “in the balance” is the salvation of the world! “May the grace of Christ be with your spirit. Amen!” (Philippians 4:23)
    Much love,
    Kip

    From Pier to Pier – 2014 Walk-a-Thon

From Pier to Pier is this year’s theme for the Santa Barbara International Christian Church walk-a-thon! We are raising money for local missions as we impact and transform lives through compassionate service.
“As a faith-based organization, we are called by the scriptures to have a heart of compassion – which we consider to be “passion in action”. Our compassion must be manifested in our daily lives through our actions: looking after the poor, healing sickness and disease, providing food and shelter and defending the weak.” (www.mercyworldwide.org)

The Santa Barbara International Christian Church is part of a worldwide fellowship. Santa Barbara is one out of five national and international church plantings planned for 2014. The others include: Gainesville, Florida (January), Toronto, Canada (March), Dallas-Ft. Worth (August), Moscow, Russia (December).

Since our Inaugural service in January, we started 3 new bible studies located on both UCSB and SBCC Campuses. In February we fundraised and sent two of our members to Santiago, Chile for a Missions conference. We have already began a monthly MERCY worldwide volunteer outreach. We partner with organizations in our local communities where we Maximize our Efforts to provide Relief and Care and serving the Youth. So far we have served Y-STRIVE For Youth Inc., a program focused on youth with high risk behaviors, by helping them prepare for their yard sale fundraiser.
Our plan for this walk-a-thon is to help our newly planted church sustain these already incredible efforts by asking for donations of $20 ($2 per mile). However a donation of any amount is appreciated. For contributions greater than $250 a receipt will be issued for tax deduction purposes. We are asking for your help to make this event effective and impacting by becoming a sponsor.

The walk will be on Saturday, April 19th. We will start at Goleta Beach, and complete the 10 mile walk at the Santa Barbara Stearns Wharf.

There is a $10 registration fee for anyone desiring to participate in the Walk-a-thon.
Checks can be made out to the Santa Barbara International Christian Church. Donations can be sent by PayPal to:

    Alex’s Baptism – March 23, 2014

Alex, a student at Santa Barbara City College (SBCC), first came to church and was immediately impacted by the love of the disciples!
